"The agreement..." Desmond mumbled, his voice tinged with a mix of concern and realization. Memories of his family's reliance on the kingdom flooded his thoughts. The truth began to crystallize before him—this agreement had not received the approval of the king. It was merely a pact forged between Weston and Desmond's family.
