Laura, still in a state of shock, found herself unable to process the unexpected question from the maid. Her cheeks reddened slightly, and she stammered, "O-Of course not!" before quickly averting her gaze.

Observing Laura's reaction, the other maids shared their thoughts in hushed whispers.

"Ah, I think I need to attend to some cleaning in the kitchen."

"Oh, I just remembered I have an important errand to run!"

One by one, the maids fabricated various reasons to excuse themselves and left Laura behind. Within seconds, only the maid who had posed the question, along with the shy and expressionless Annie, remained on the stairs.

"Good luck!" The maid patted Laura on the back and followed the others, leaving the spot vacant.
