Bab 153: Heart's desire

Alastair was not present during lunch or dinner, and Samantha was getting jittery as time passed. She had never seen the young King lose control, nor had she seen him snap at her. His sudden shift in demeanor had stunned her, and now, she had even started to fear him. Though there was a part of her assuring her that he would never hurt her, not her at least. A small part of her was also warning her to be aware of him. And this small part was slowly consuming her mind, not allowing her to be at peace.

Daphne noticed the girl staring into space as she ran her spoon on the plate. Samantha had not taken even one bite since they had started dinner. All her mind was filled with disturbing thoughts, and her face did not conceal her present state.
