The Life death clan under the leadership of the grand elder has begun to increase its strength and has built up its army but that wasn't it because as the top power they had many small clans at their disposal and some of them are in the alliance making them the perfect scapegoats for sabotage during the fight.
The two powers immediately didn't attack because they both knew that the one that did first would be open to retaliation efforts and the other person would only be on the defensive which is far easier to resources being in the clan and the ability to set down killing and other formations like ones that drain energy from the attacker and illusion arrays that would make killing the energy far easier.
The great waiting happens as they both no moves and there was a long standstill. To the people under the realm of heavenly god, however, did not have a clue that there was such a massive event going on right under their noses but the elder knew that at anytime a war can break out that can change the destiny of both the central god plane and the Life-Death sect.
On this day the signal of war spark as there was a single event that caused the downfall of the life death clan. On that day it is said that an unknown "bandit clan" attacked the Life-Death hall and caught them off guard and then another extremely powerful bandit clan came forward to attack at the same time for money effectively splitting the power of the Life-Death clan in half.
At the same time, the alliance between many of the top clans and sect ant the time "joined together" to "destroy evil" as they said the Life-Death hall was scrupulous in is the use of souls and blatantly consumed them acting like devils and demon so the alliance is a way to stop this was through war.
So the great alliance through the explanation that caused the of the support of the common people and the silence of crits that asked why they didn't do this before as it was well known that the Life-Death sect especially the death hall consumed souls as it was extremely good for cultivation death laws giving twice the results for half the effort but those were all silenced.
The overall war can really be summarized into one word "brutal." The various clan even if they won in the end and killed all the disples and elder of the life and death hall still gave a steep price. During the war, the alliance of the clan wants able to get an upper clan in and would actually lose if the grand elder was leading the charge the alliance quickly realized that they don't have enough brute force to win against the life and death hall even with all their efforts.
They did back down and went all out as they knew that the cultivation has infinite energy and could not last forever and they also had far more people to their disposal so they just ran at the energy and try to purposefully lower energy so that they can lower and slowly kill the enemy.
The strategy worked and after ten thousand years of brutal war the alliance and immediately sealed all the cultivation of the elder and the alliance tried to establish itself as the top powers after losing.
After they have established themselves they immediately raided the hall and while they did find some great treasures the rumored Life-Death scythe was missing however and so was the sect masters.
Once this was known to the higher-ups the all coughed up blood and went to war with all the bandit clan as they were sure that the ones the hired stole the item and ran. This series of wars was led to the deterioration of the central territory and the destruction of the central territory and destroying of the alliance after an internal dispute.
Many looked for the scythe after them and the disappearance of the two sect master however it is said that they are no longer in the god plane.
