Bab 28: Claiming Her as His Princess Alone

This kind of romantic setting and his beloved's affectionate sapphire blue orbs - they're something Zen had been dreaming of for a long, long time now.

If only Anastasia wasn't drunk and she's actually saying all these things genuinely, his heart would definitely burst with bliss right then and there. He would really feel like he didn't need anything else.

Right now, though, Zen has to settle with what reality can give him. Besides, it's not like he isn't emotionally stirred by this moment.

In fact, as he continues to stare down at this raven-haired beauty in his arms, his heart can't help but leap in joy. He's helplessly drawn and enraptured at this point. It's just that she looks so cute and lovely with those beet red cheeks of hers and how her pale skin appears to be gleaming underneath the moonlight.

While Zen is having this train of musings, Anastasia spreads a huge grin out of nowhere, her ocean blue irises beaming brighter than ever.

"Now, you really look like a prince charming~!" she chirped zestfully, a smitten look splattered across her face.

"A prince charming, huh?" he chuckled softly, somewhat amused.

"Yeah, yeah...! A very, very handsome one! Someone who cast a strong spell on poor ol' me and made me fall soooo in love~"

At that moment, Zen is close to losing control.

He keeps telling himself that it's just the wine speaking. But even then, he can sense that there is at least a bit of truth in her words. He can see it in her fond expression.

That's why he wants to know just how sincere her words are. He wants to know if his romantic advances are making any progress at all.

"Seriously, you..." he then muttered with a deep, breathy tone.

Now, if Anastasia acts any more adorable and cuter than this, Zen is afraid that they may not make it in her bed anymore. He might not really be able to hold himself any longer.

Kissing his beloved here and now just seems so tempting.

"Though I may not be a princess..." Anastasia then added all of the sudden, making him snap out of his fleeting reverie.

"I'll do my best to be a good lover to you."

And alas, she passed out.

Zen falls silent and goes still after hearing her uncalled-for remark, his eyes as wide as saucers. He felt his heart warming up before melting into a puddle of goo the moment she said those words with an enamored smile on her face.

Perhaps, there's indeed a bit of truth in her words, after all. She just sounded so genuine that it's hard to tell that she's lying.

If that is indeed the case, it also probably means that Anastasia is unknowingly liking Zen once more even though he still hasn't revealed who he truly is.

It's as if she's already piecing the puzzle together without her realizing, then repeating history all over again.

"Sia..." he then found himself breathing out, looking all smitten.

For the next seconds to come, Zen only continues staring down at his beloved's sleeping face. All the while, he silently wonders just how fortunate he is to find someone like her - someone so pure and self-sacrificing.

Anastasia is undoubtedly one of a kind - definitely one in a trillion.

With an affectionate smile gracing his features, Zen lowers down his head for a little and places a warm, gentle kiss on her forehead before doing the same on her cheek. He then starts to make his way inside, his eyes never leaving her reposeful expression.

"Then, let me be your one and only prince for the rest of your life, princess."
