Mari was being escorted to the [First-High Pavilion], where everyone was waiting for her; by her boyfriend, Chiba Naotsugu.
"I am fine, Naotsugu." She said.
"You need not worry about me anymore. The doctors have given me the green light." (Mari)
Naotsugu turned to look at his girlfriend and gave her an indifferent look.
"Mari, I love you but stop speaking." (Naotsugu)
"You nearly suffered a fatal injury and now you have the guts to say that you are fine and that I shouldn't worry!?" (Naotsugu)
"How foolish can you be, woman!?" (Naotsugu)
Naotsugu blatantly refused to leave her alone until he had made certain that she wasn't in some kind of danger.
Mari, of course, couldn't do or say anything since her boyfriend had already made up his mind to stay by her side.

(Inside Pavilion)
Mari and Naotsugu entered the room, only to encounter a worried Mayumi standing in front of them.
"Mari, are you alright!?" (Mayumi)
Mayumi was very concerned about her friend's health condition.
The latter had nearly suffered a fatal injury but was saved by her boyfriend and friend.
Her face was pale, probably due to the scary experience she just went through; but other than that, she was fine.
She hadn't sustained any injuries due to the accident and after the check-up; the doctors gave her the green light.
"I am fine, Mayumi." (Mari)
She spoke with a small smile on her face.
"Thanks to Naotsugu and Erik, I didn't have to suffer from what could have been a potential injury." (Mari)
"Come to think of it, where is Erik?" (Mari)
Mari looked around to search for her friend only to come up with nothing.
"He is currently talking with the organizers of the event to sort out the situation." (Mayumi)
Mayumi fills Mari in on the situation; Erik was busy dealing with the organizers to sort out the situation and hopefully find what went wrong.
"Oh? Well, what about the [Seventh-High participant]?" (Mari)
"Is she okay?" (Mari)
Masi asks if her opponent was hurt during the accident.
"She was unharmed during the accident." (Mayumi)
"Thankfully Erik managed to save her before anything bad could happen." (Mayumi)
"You did the right thing, Mari." (Suzune)
"Your quick thinking saved her from a permanent injury." (Suzune)
"Thank god!" (Mari)
Mari heaved a sigh of relief as soon as she heard that her opponent was not in mortal danger.
"You should rest now, Mari." (Mayumi)
Mayumi solemnly tells Mari to get some rest and persuades her to lie down on the sofa and take a nap.
"Yeah, I could really use a nap!" (Mari)
Surprisingly, Mari didn't argue with Mayumi and complied with her request.
She laid on the sofa since her room was located in a different building, some distance away from the stadium; to get some sleep.
A few minutes passed and Mari's breathing stabilized; indicating that she was asleep to recover her energy.
Mayumi and Suzune turned towards Naotsugu, motioning for him to not make much noise and listen to what they have to say.
*whispers*
"Naotsugu-san! A moment please, I would like to talk to you about something." (Mayumi)
Naotsugu was confused by Mayumi's actions but still complied; he arrived near Mayumi and Suzune.
Both of the girls had a serious expression on their respective faces.
*whispers*
"We think that the accident that happened today was preplanned!" (Mayumi)
"It was no accident that the [Seventh-High participant] lost control over her board!" (Suzune)
*barely whispers*
"What!?" Naotsugu bellowed in a suppressed growl.
He had an ugly expression on his face which slowly turned murderous as he forcefully restrained himself from releasing any bloodlust!
Should he accidentally wake, Mari!
That would be bad news!
Anyway, Mayumi continues by saying that there might have been outside influence.
*whispers*
"It may be due to some outside influence." She states.
"But don't worry, I have asked Tatsuya and Isori to look into the matter along with Erika and Mikihiko." (Mayumi)
"I am sure that they will be able to find if anything was wrong with the race; could there be an outside influence!?" (Mayumi)
"And while analyzing the footage of the race, if anything suspicious is found." (Mayumi)
"I want you to use your connection to get more intel before we report the situation to the authorities." (Mayumi)
Going to the authorities without sufficient proof could prove to be fatal!
The former could try to wrap the situation and suppress it with some story or outright refuse to believe their claims.
With sufficient evidence, the authorities would have to listen and act accordingly.
"I hadn't told Erik about this yet; I haven't gotten the chance to tell him as of now and I have no idea how long that would take." (Mayumi)
"So I am informing you about this suspicion of mine." (Mayumi)
"Please don't tell anyone else about what I have told you just now! It would lead to some major complications if my assumptions are wrong." (Mayumi)
Mayumi had a serious expression on her face as she explained to Naotsugu the severity of the situation and what could happen if they mess up.
Forced into such a situation, Naotsugu opened his mouth to ask the first question that came into his mind.
"How sure are you about the accident being no accident!?" He questioned.
He wanted to know, just how sure was Mayumi with her claim.
And unsurprisingly, for him, the numbers were quite high!
"....about 80%, sure." (Mayumi)
Mayumi was highly confident in her claim being the truth due to her vast experience as one of the [10-Master Clan].

(Elsewhere)
"Hm...Saegusa-san was right!" (Isori)
"There is an outside influence on the race!" (Isori)
"Indeed!" (Tatsuya)
Both Isori and Tatsuya had finished reviewing the footage and agreed that there was an outside influence on the race.
But Isori further states that there are magicians and cameras present to prevent such interference.
"The authorities have appointed capable individuals to make sure something like this doesn't happen!" (Isori)
"So how!? The only possibility left is that the magic was triggered from within the water!" (Isori)
"But that's not possible!" (Isori)
He concluded that the only possibility was that the magic had been cast from within the water, but further states that, that is also almost impossible.
Faced with a dead-end, Tatsuya opted to get more brains on-board.
"Hm...what do you think after watching the video, Mikihiko?" He asked.
"Can it be some kind of [Spirit-Magic]?" (Tatsuya)
"Yes, it is possible..." (Mikihiko)
Mikihiko pondered as he confirmed that it was indeed possible to create a spirit to cast such magic underwater.
"But if the participant from Seventh High had not accelerated accidentally, the magic would have been harmless." (Mikihiko)
"Well, what if the sudden acceleration of her board was no coincidence?" (Tatsuya)
"What if their CAD was rigged?" (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya claims that the Seventh High's acceleration may not have been a coincidence but suggests that their CAD was sabotaged.
"I believe that there is a mole on the Competition Committee, remember that all CADs are turned over to the Committee once before the match for inspection." (Tatsuya)
"I think we should keep on guard." (Tatsuya)
"I agree with Tatsuya-san." (Isori)
"Let's report this to Mayumi-san!" (Mikihiko)
"Alright!" (Mizuki)
Each of them made their way towards the pavilion to inform Mayumi about their discovery.
Whereas due to the accident, Third High had gotten much closer to catching up to First High in aggregate score.
