Bab 174: Chapter 174
Ken and Big Mom's swords clashed for the first time ever. The clash created shockwaves of Haoshoku Haki, sending the nearby chesspieces flying, and even Ken's crew and the Beast Pirates Tobiroppo had trouble standing still. After no one managed to get the upper hand, both of them jumped back.
"ROAR!"
A giant tail suddenly attacked Ken's back. But before the tail could hit him, he got intercepted by Akari, who grabbed his tail.
"This is your second crime, lizard," said Akari in a calm yet terrifying voice.
"You bastard! I still need to pay you back for the shame you brought me!"
Page One tried to get his tail back, but before he knew it, he was looking up at the sky. The giant Spinosaurus got flung into the air and smashed into the ground by Akari.
"Don't worry about the other ones, Captain. Just focus on the big one."
"Thanks, Akari."
Knowing that his crewmates have his back, Ken didn't think twice and immediately ran towards Big Mom.
"Zeus!"
"Yes, mama!"
Zeus quickly covered Big Mom's left arm and lightning started flying off of it.
"Raitei."
"BOOM!"
Before Ken could do anything, he got hit in his gut by a lightning punch. He got sent flying, and Big Mom immediately ran after him. She hit him with an uppercut this time, sending him into the air, and finished it off by jumping above him and cutting him in half. Or that was what she thought. At the last second, Ken rotated his body, making the sword miss him by a hair.
Ken kicked himself towards Big Mom with Geppo and covered his fist with Ryou. He pulled his arm back and punched towards Big Mom. However, she managed to dodge it.
"Argh!"
Big Mom got sent flying towards the ground by an unexpected kick. Ken followed her and kicked her again and again, sending her crashing into the ground, creating a giant crater. He tried to follow up with a punch but had to jump away to dodge her Raitei.
"Indra!"
Zeus shot out a lightning bolt towards Ken, who barely managed to dodge it. The second one however managed to hit him on the leg. Zeus immediately sent out more lightning bolts towards Ken.
"Tsk, it seems like lightning isn't special anymore. I guess this is enough for testing the waters."

Zeus sent out more lightning bolts, but all of them got blocked by an invisible force.
"That's impossible! How did you get its technique!"
"Its? I don't know who you're talking about, but this is something that I created on my own. Now let's get this show on the road!"

The invisible force field started shrinking till it stuck onto Ken like it was his own skin. Ken started stretching to see how it feels, and the smile on his face says it all.
"You're a monster."
"Says the one who killed the oldest giant at 5 years old and ate her friends and mother."
"What are you talking about!"
"Mother Carmel was a child trafficker dealing in orphans. She tried to sell you and your friends to the underworld, but you went on one of your Hunger Pangs and ate all of them. I almost laughed to death when Streusen said that."
"Wh… what are you talking about! There is no way that that is true! And when did you talk to Streusen?"
"I know some people in the underworld who know about Carmel, and I doubt that Streusen even remembers spilling the beans. I have an amazing guy in my crew who knows how to make people talk."
"STOP LYING!" screamed Big Mom. An enormous pressure accompanied her scream, making everyone around her take a step back, except for Ken whose shield protected him from her Haoshoku Haki.
"I killed all of your children and told you about the horrible truth of your past. You must really want to kill me now. But of course, you'll only end up like those weaklings that you pumped out. A whore like you never had a chance against me, to begin with. You should just roll over and die like the dog you are."
All the fighting stopped, and it turned completely quiet. Everyone was shocked by what Ken said and the insults he hurled at Big Mom.
"Azure Ken. I remember hearing about your girlfriend, Celine. Once I'm done with you, I'll make sure to get a thousand guys who'll turn her into a real whore in front of you. I'll do the same to the rest of your crew and torture them till no one is left. And you won't be able to do anything but watch."
"Sigh, I tried to get you angry, but your way to calm. Did you even care about them? Well, whatever, It's not like I needed an advantage to beat you anyway."
"I also expected a different response from you. I guess we're back to square one, and you wasted our time. Ikoku!"
Big Mom suddenly stabbed her sword forward, creating a shockwave that destroyed everything in its path.

(The move Dorry and Brogy used to kill that island eater. It's a combination attack with Dorry's sword and Broggy's ax. But Ken only used his sword.)
Ken sent out an equally strong shockwave with his swords, canceling out Big Mom's.
"Did you get your Giants to teach you that?"
"Did you copy that off of the giants you wanted to fuck so badly?"
Their conversations weren't getting anywhere, so they stopped talking and let their attacks do the talking.

Ulti is in her full Pachycephalosaurus form, and she is running towards Van Augur head first. But before she manages to get close, she gets shot on her legs, making her fall down.
"You bastard! Stop being so annoying and let me get close!" screamed Ulti.
But all that she got as a response was a bullet to the head. She managed to block the shots with her Hak and thick skull.
"You must have a horrible fate to be fighting against us. It will be better if I put you out of your misery right now."
Van Augur pulled on the trigger and shot out a bullet that created a shockwave which sent everything around him flying. Ulti quickly jumped to the right trying to dodge the bullet, but her tail lagged behind and got hit by the bullet.
"AAHH!"
Instead of putting a hole the size of the bullet in her tail, it almost erased her entire tail. Blood was spurting out of her tail and she fell down on her knees, turning back to her human form.
"You must be thinking, 'How can a bullet do so much damage.' and 'Who is this guy? He wasn't in my report of guys to look out for.' I get that a lot. Now may you rest in peace."
"Bam!"
"Cough, cough!"
Van Augur jumped away and looked at the blood he coughed on his hand. He looked down at his stomach, seeing a hole in it. Black Maria was standing in front of Ulti in her Rosamygale grauvogeli form, which is an ancient carnivorous spider.
"Van Augur!" Jinbe quickly helped Van Augur to stay standing. "I'm sorry, I didn't manage to spot what she was trying to do in time."
"It's fine. I was fated to bleed but not to die. While she is preoccupied with Ulti, help me wrap this bandage around my wound."
Van Augur grabbed a bandage roll from his pocket and handed it to Jinbe, who quickly started patching up his wound.
"It doesn't look bad and you haven't lost a lot of blood. You should be fine. But again, I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it. It's my fault for not being able to dodge it. Even though I sensed it, I wasn't fast enough to move my body. I guess extra legs really make you faster. Behind you!"
"Five Thousand Tile True Punch!" Jinbe turned around and met Black Maria's attack head-on. The unexpected punch seemed to be too much for her, making her jump back. "I can move faster than her, and you can see through her attacks. Sounds like a dream team to me, Van Augur."
"Agreed, Jinbe."
