While Peterson reconciles with Annabeth, Ivy was in the middle of convincing Mr Omer.

She thought of running away but decided to stay and persuade him.

(Author: Technically, she has no choice since Mr Omer has connections with the ship captains so he can stop the ship from sailing at any time.)

But Mr Omer is very angry at her for deceiving him. Thus, no matter how much she tries to reason, he refuses to listen.

"Hmph! Really..." Mr Omer let out a breath of his frustration with his arms folded.

"If I have not returned on time, you would've flown the coop, would you? I thought I've made it clear to you that it is too dangerous for you to travel with that wizard."

"But Grandpapa, without Mr Tolius's help, I won't be able to learn how to control my magic.

And if I don't learn how to control my magic, I can't cure my illness.
