"And what are those, changes you talk about?" Vanilla spoke. "Just like the contractor, you sure love to use those vague and pseudo poetical words. Why should I trust what you say if you seem to be like him? It is clear that both of you are just trying to use me." 

As she spoke, the older man reached for the lower part of his rusty desk and took out from a drawer two more crystal cups. He filled them both with his red wine and responded.

"You ask if you can trust in me, and then you compare me to that man. No. That is not a man, and you know it. But you are already trusting him, are not you?"

He sliced through the splintery desk the two cups of wine to each girl and sipped from his own. Vanilla refused to drink from it, although Cookie sniffed it like a cat, and like one, gave it a sip with her tongue. Her face made a burning frown.
