Bab 26: Jaberwocky - Rewording Spin
It was in between twilight and pitch black, and the slimey short reptile
Did whirl and move nimbly in the hillside
All unhappy were the parrots
And the lost green pigs bellowed, sneezed and whistled
"Beware the dragon my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the transforming bird and shun!
The furious, fuming wild fish!"
He took his deadly sword in hand;
Long time the fearsome foe he sought-
So rested he by the tomato tree,
And stood awhile in thought
And, as in dynamic thought he stood,
The dragon with eyes of flame,
Came directly through the tangled wood,
And whistled as it came!
One, two! One, two! Through and through
The deadly blade went Cling-Clang!
He left it dead, and with it's head
He went clumsily back.
"And have you slain the dragon?
Come to my arms my optimistic boy!
Oh fantastic day! Horrah! Hooray!"
He chuckle-snorted in his joy.
