* Jakes went to Laura *
Jakes said "talking with my dad can be exhausting, the man still does not want to talk about his life I mean his past, he knows everything in my life but I shouldn't and are you listening to me?"
Laura said "forget about your dad, if you really wanted to know you would have found a way all these years and I don't know what to wear help me out."
Jakes said "really babe clothes important than this and we are leaving tomorrow, will be on the plane for hours so wearing comfortable clothes and shoes it's the way to go."
Laura said "I'm not talking about tomorrow genius, your sister will be here just now help me choose an outfit babe please."
Jakes said "you don't have to go all this trouble she will like you, I think."
Laura said "you think, is there something you what to tell me Jakes."
Jakes said " She is mean, so your natural look and the fact you don't come from money, she meant look down on you but it's been years last I saw her maybe she has change."
Laura said "wow, I am not putting on a wig for her and now nervous about meeting her."
Jakes said "I don't care what my sister will think of you, I love you."
Laura said "I do care, she is your sister and again red dress or the black one?"
Jakes said "the red one is flames."
Laura said "thank you have to get ready now stop interrogating your dad it's his life and now he will think you want to know about his past because of me, living with black people from the hood."
Jakes said "that is not just that maybe dating you wanted me to know but I will let this go."
Laura said "you do that and let me get ready for your sister."
* Jakes thinking to himself I hope my sister will be nice to Laura, was she still the mean person or did she changed it's been years hope this lunch thing goes well and my girl won't get caught in this family dilemma, I did not tell Laura that she would prefer me dating blonds. *
Jakes sister arrived.
Jakes's father said "nice to see you my daughter."
Evelin said "I'm glad I missed you father, where is jakes?"
Jakes's father said "he is here, he will come down for lunch with his girlfriend."
Evelin said "his girlfriend, can't wait to meet her let me go and freshen up before we can all sit down eat and talk."
*** Time for lunch everyone was at the table***
Evelin said "I can't believe you are Jakes girlfriend."
Jakes said "what do you mean, how would you know my type."
Evelin said "I mean she has no fashion sense not blond, she looks cheap smells cheap, she is not from money that's what I'm trying to say."
*The trouble Laura went through to look good, yet sit down there to be insulted jakes was not going to take that lightly was he?*.
Jakes said " you are not going to insult my girlfriend like that, if you have insults throw them at me not her she did nothing to you, don't you ever disrespect her."
* Laura sitting there saying nothing, wasn't like her she didn't like to be disrespected especially by people like Evelin who thought they were better than everyone*
Laura said "it's nothing babe."
Jakes's father said" let's eat everyone, how is everything Evelin and did you have a nice flight?"
Evelin said "everything is great, business is doing well."
Jakes said "speaking of business, is that why you are here, all these years you just going to sit there eat steak pretend like everything is fine, your father can do that but I won't."
Jakes's father said "Jakes, now it is not the time for that."
Evelin said "it's okay, I came here because I miss you, it's been years and about business too."
Jakes said "about business why am I not surprise, are you going to apologise for what you did to this family?"
Evelin said "what are you talking about?"
Jakes said "are you serious, have you lost your mind?"
Evelin said "if you mean trying to get rid of our father at the company it was just business, I apologize if that will make you happy."
Jakes said "you came to our mother's funeral you didn't bother to come and see how I was holding up."
Evelin said "I'm sorry Jakes but it was hard for me too."
Jakes said "that's not enough, you don't even mean it, I forgive you and I mean it."
* Evelin rolling her eyes*
Jakes's father said "this is my fault I should have let you be a child instead of showing you how the business works telling you about the will I ruined you Evelin."
Evelin said "why show me the ropes, the ins and outs of the business only to give it all to Jakes, who doesn't care about that last time I check he was a spoilt rich boy."
Jakes said "you don't know anything about me."
Jakes's father said "like I said this is my fault I will fix this, you two will be equal partners 50 /50 of everything that's mine, you two need to get along I won't be here forever and we all need to move on. "
Evelin said "how about 60%, jakes can get 40 % of it."
Jakes's father said "I'm not changing my mind you two won't kill each other over this or plot evil to each other."
Jakes said "don't worry about that, I want nothing give it all to her, you are giving her 50% because you feel responsible for what she did. She was old enough to know what she was doing, do you care what kind of direction she will take your business into, and not to mention the chaos she will bring."
Jakes's father said "that's why you will be there, you care about people you will make sure everyone is happy."
Jakes said "I'm not going to play a babysitter, I'm not going to watch Evelin I don't need this drama in my life."
Evelin said "that's why I said I should have it all."
Jakes's father said "enough, that's why I chose Jakes over you, you're too ambitious, greedy and heartless."
Evelin said "I learnt from the best."
Jakes's father said" maybe, but that's not how I want you to do things."
Evelin said "fine, I will take what you will give me."
Jakes's father said "let's talk about something else."
Jakes said "where is your husband, why didn't you come with him here oh I forgot probably be awkward father's ex-friend and former business partner."
Evelin said "he had things to do. "
Jakes said "like what?"
Evelin said "stop being nosy."
*Laura can see that she was lying, hiding something.*
Laura said "how's life in Europe?"
Evelin said "great, amazing I bet you would not know that, have you ever been overseas?"
Jakes said "Evelin stop it. "
Laura said " it's okay, you are right I wouldn't know that, I wouldn't know if someone's is running away from their miserable life it's Europe" great" doesn't exactly tell us anything you are doing there. "
Evelin said "I'm confused."
Laura said "I mean tell us about your life there we want to hear everything. "
Evelin said "there's nothing to tell, why don't you tell me about your trip with jakes who is paying for all that?"
Jakes said "I won't sit here listen to your nonsense, who do you think you are?"
Evelin said "I'm just trying to know Laura like she is doing."
Jakes said "by insulting here, you and I will have a problem if you keep disrespecting my girlfriend. "
Jakes's father said "can't we sit here and try to be a family, you two need to stop fighting. I'm tired I need to go and lie down."
Jakes said "at this time, are you alright father?"
Jakes's father said "I'm fine, just don't kill each other when I'm gone."
Jakes said "look at what you did."
Evelin said "what, where are you going, are you not going to run after your man Laura?"
Laura said "pass this chance to talk to you alone no."
Evelin said "you can speak, you were quiet here it was like you were not even here."
Laura said "listen to me here, jakes is a man now, not some boy you treated badly left behind and chasing money."
Evelin said "what do you know girl?"
Laura said " you are here because your perfect life isn't perfect after all, you think everyone bought your lies, " I just miss you Jakes" you are here for money, I'm guessing your so called successful business didn't work out and you sounded desperate to get your hands on the shares."
Evelin said "who do you think you are?"
Laura said "Laura Black I don't care what you think about me, I know your kind I know how to deal with people like you. I sat there take your insults not because I'm stupid because I love Jakes, it's a family gathering he has my back and I have his. "
Evelin said "your point to all this nonsense you are saying."
Laura said "the point is better think before you open that trashy mouth of yours, or I will show you want cheap looks like. I won't let you disrespect me or Jakes, you will apologize to him and you will not say I'm sorry only."
Evelin said "what makes you think I will do that and where do you get of talking to me like that?"
Laura said "the won't be any chance for you if you don't fix this now, deep down I know you love your brother. I see a little girl in a woman's body broken all along wanted daddy's approval wanted him to see you as his daughter, smart capable of running his empire but he never did, all that anger you took it out to Jakes will it stop now."
*Laura went to see Jakes*
Laura said "your sister is something else, do I smell cheap which I don't think so , if I do it's your fault because you bought me these products I used. "
*She laughed but jakes wasn't.*
Laura said "I'm kidding, are you alright babe?"
Jakes said "No, how are you okay with what happened there, she was disrespectful she hasn't change all these years."
Laura said "hurt people hurt other people, it is clear she is miserable hiding something and has her own issues. We should not judge her life is complicated."
Jakes said "I can't believe you're defending her behaviour."
Laura said "I'm not I'm just saying.... "
*Evelin Enters the room*
Evelin said "I can comeback later if I'm interrupting."
Jakes said "what do you want now?"
Laura said "let me give you two time alone to talk."
Jakes said "don't go anywhere Laura, she can say whatever she wants to say while you are here."
Evelin said "okay, I was taught to think about business walk talk, I was brought up to take over one day when you were born everything changed."
Jakes said "so, it's my fault that I was born?"
Laura said "let her finish babe."
Evelin said "dad changed his mind I wasn't a man, all the sudden I wasn't cut out for the business world, I work hard I thought that was enough but it wasn't. I got jealous of you I wanted him to see me as a brilliant business person not just a woman, I came up with the plan to get rid of him to prove I don't need to be a man, to be ruthless in business world and I didn't want to hurt him, you or mother."
Jakes said "but you did."
Evelin said "I am truly sorry I regretted everything I did, at our mother's funeral I was so full of shame, I didn't know what to say to you I thought you probably hate me, so it was better to leave without saying a word."
Jakes said "I don't hate you, everything you did was better for you didn't think about me or your father our family."
Evelin said "you are right, I'm selfish, greedy power hungry, I am all of that I want you to know I am sorry please forgive me."
Jakes said "I do forgive you, why are you here the truth please?"
Evelin said "I was voted out of the company, it was my husband idea now ex-husband we are getting a divorce, things haven't been great. I can't have kids he cheated on me with someone young got her pregnant, it's not enough he did that he is planning to marry her and I wanted to fix things am I stupid."
Laura said "no, you're human."
*Jakes didn't know what to say*.
Evelin said "well I deserve all this it hurts so badly and I can't imagine what my father felt when I tried to take his company."
Laura said "we make mistakes, you just have to own up to what you did, earn jakes and your father's trust. Your father needs you here and also jakes he won't say it he is too proud."
Jakes said "you do know I am still in the room my room."
*Laura and Evelin both laughing, seems like the day was going to end well and Laura decided to be the bigger person*.
Laura said "I have to make a call."
Evelin said "before you do that, I'm sorry I was disrespectful to you."
Laura said "well it is not okay but all is forgiven and don't ever say such things to me again."
Jakes said "that's my girl."
* Jakes was left with his sister now.*
Jakes said "I don't even know what to say."
Evelin said "say I got what I deserved, karma."
Jakes said "No, you don't deserve what you are going through now, it will be fine and this too shall pass. "
Evelin said "that's what Mother would say, I miss her so much Jakes it kills me that I wasn't here for her and for my family."
Jakes said "you are here now I'm sure she is smiling now, you can still turn things around, run father's companies but not to the ground. He worked hard for everything he has, I may not like how he does his business but he deserve to have us both making sure everything continues running smooth."
Evelin said "you have grown so much your girlfriend you're lucky to have her and I like her she speaks her mind takes no nonsense from anyone."
Jakes said "you did insult her but you like her."
Evelin said "I did apologize I was wrong about her and something's don't change. Jakes you have to learn to let go and move on not talk about the same things."
Jakes said "I will let it go, just for peace."
They were laughing everything was great.
*** jakes and Laura were finally heading to Europe before heading out jakes and Evelin decided to talk with their father, that they will both work together look after their father's empire and Evelin came clean to his father about why she came here ***
Jakes's father said "you two travel safe, call me when you land."
Evelin said "have fun, Laura thank you for everything."
Laura said "don't mention it."
Jakes said "okay people, bye will see you on new year's eve."
Jakes's father said "you two are planning to stay there that long and you are lucky I am billionaire this child."
Jakes said "will be back not soon good bye everyone."
