After I took off the parasite creature that draining off the life force of the young girl, the young doctor asked her mother that we should bring her child to his clinic and check her health condition if she already really safe. We went inside his car and drove back to his clinic.
"I would like to express my gratitude for saving my daughter but what really are you? You have supernatural abilities that's out of this world." the woman spoke and asked me from behind my seat while embracing her unconscious daughter in her arms which was covered in blanket.
"Well, I actually came from another world. Lilith and I are running away from the Demon Army when we accidentally transported here in your world." I answered while staring at the window.
"Something that only happens in the fantasy stories that I read in the past and I'm supposed to be shock from all this informations but after getting involved with Himiko, I saw a lot of things that shouldn't be seen by a normal humans like ghost, demons and evil spirits. They are the haunted creature called Yokai in this country." the young doctor spoke with pale expression.
"It can't be helped. You're the only person I know that I could ask for help." the woman responded with embarrassed tone.
"Listen here, Seir. That woman is a loner and she doesn't have a single friend when we were young that's why I'm only one she can rely on, and now, I'm suffering since then." the young doctor grumbled.
"Hey! Why do you have to say that?! It's not like I don't have friends, I just don't want to put anyone in danger so I decided to be alone!"
"Then what about me? Do you remember how many times I ended up in danger because of your work as demon exterminator? There were times that I nearly died!"
"Didn't I saved you at the nick of time on those situations? Stop being whiny! You're being uncool right now."
The two of them continued to argue. I remembered last night when I first met the two of them, they were already arguing even though I don't understand them at that time. I even thought that the two of them are so close that I guessed that they are lovers or something.
"Wait! You two are not lovers?" I asked them and they glared to me, yelling in anger.
"We're not!"
We arrived at the clinic and the young doctor immediately went to check the condition of the young girl. He said that she's fine now and the mother felt at ease. I went back to the ward where Lilith was resting then I continued to watch over her.
"You really care about her, is she your sweetheart or something?"
I glanced towards the curtain and saw the young doctor peeking inside.
"It's not like that." I sighed then I gazed at Lilith's peaceful face while she's sleeping.
"Eh... That's disappointing. I thought I could tease you back."
"She was already by my side by the time I was born. We grew up together and she became my servant. She's already like a family to me and the only person I could trust."
"Did you came from rich family in your world?"
"Rich family? More like, a son of the current Demon King."
"Demon... King? Seriously?"
The young doctor's cheek was twitching, can't believe what he just heard.
"Before I arrived here with Lilith, I went and fought my father, the demon king in a duel and I defeated him but I failed to kill him. We were chased by the Demon army and branded as traitors."
When I glanced to the young doctor, he was trembling and moving away from me with pale expression.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked, seeing his weird action.
"Then... you are some kind of demon prince?!" he looks very frightened.
"Yes, but why do you look scared? It's not like I'll eat you or anything, I'm still a half-human after all."
"Really?"
"I don't eat humanoid creatures. That's disgusting."
"Okay..."
It seems like he was still cautious of me.
"About the deal. I already spoke with Himiko. She has no choice but agree to the deal. After your servant gets discharge tomorrow, you two will live with them in their home."
I remembered the living conditions of those two and I think it will be impossible for them to provide us our needs everyday. It will be a big burden for them considering how poor they are.
"Sorry, but you're the one who accepted the deal. You have to be the one who needs to take the responsibility."
The young doctor held his forehead.
"You know, I'm not the one who asked for help, it's them."
"Yeah, but you are the one who made the deal. I doubt they can feed us properly with their living conditions. Have a pity on them." I said, slightly tilting my head.
"Okay, fine! I'll take of care of your financial needs but you two will live with them. I can't take care of you kids since I live alone and I'm always away and busy with my work."
"I'm alright with that, but shouldn't you find a partner? Considering that you have the same age as that woman."
The young doctor froze for a moment then he sighed.
"Let me tell something and this is just between us since you revealed about yourself. Himiko and I are dating in the past but during my time studying overseas as a doctor, we got into a quarrel because of long distance relationship and I never heard anything about her since then and she never called me again. When I graduated and returned back home to Japan, I found out that she already has a child from another guy without us even officially breaking up. That's why, you shouldn't make me reminiscent about the past with her." he suddenly said something unexpected which made me shock and the atmosphere in the room became heavy.
"Sorry..."
"Okay then, goodnight."
With dejected face, he left the ward and closed the curtain.
The next day, Lilith was discharged after showing no sign of sickness and the young doctor was giving us ride together with the mother and daughter. There was an awkward atmosphere between the two adults sitting in front of us.
The daughter who's sitting beside me has been fidgeting around with flushed face and I curiously asked her about her family.
"Shiina, where's your father?"
Her eyes widened in surprise then she became sad.
"I don't know..."
"Huh? What do you mean you don't know--"
"Her father ran away and went missing when I got pregnant of her. Never mention about that guy again and I don't want to talk about that bastard!" the mother was the one who answered and she sounded very furious.
"Himiko."
The young doctor called her name and she was quite surprised and became frustrated.
When we arrived at their house, the young doctor left me some money and he told me to contact him through the mother when I needed more. After bidding a farewell to us, he finally left and drove back to his clinic while we wave our hand at him.
"Come inside."
The mother called us and we entered to our temporary home.
