Bab 33: Sister

"Does Shao Rong stay with you?" Bingwen was dumbfounded by Weimin's question.

He didn't know how to answer that question. Before this episode, Sun Bingwen and Shao Rong treated each other as brother and sister hence there was nothing awkward with staying together.

Even if they were not brother and sister, Shao Rong was Father Sun's esteemed guest. Hence giving shelter to his father's guest is nothing out of the ordinary.

But now, Shao Rong said that they met through a blind date. Hence if he said that they were living in the same house, the meaning would be that they were living together instead of they were staying in the same place.

The difference between the both meanings is too vast that he does not dare to reply to Weimin's question.

Because he does not want Weimin or any other person to look at Shao Rong in a different light due to his words.

He also knows that there is something different going on between Weimin and Shao Rong. Though she wants to avoid him, she definitely does not hate him.

Hence, in the future, he does not want any misunderstandings to occur between them because of him. So he did not understand how to reply to that question.

"Brother Weimin, that, Um, we just met through a blind date."

He glanced at Weimin with hesitation as he could only give that perfunctory answer.

"Blind date, my foot. Don't think that I am blind. I can see that you both treat each other as brother and sister." Weimin's words once again dumbfounded Sun Bingwen.

Now he was totally speechless. "Um."

"Just tell me if she is staying with you." Ren Weimin asked once again.

Sun Bingwen with his blank face nodded his head, "Yes."

Weimin nodded back and patted his shoulder, "Hmm. Take good care of her. If there is any problem, just call me immediately and don't tell her about our conversation. Just go along with her words and actions." After speaking all the words calmly, he turned around and entered the room calmly like nothing happened without even waiting for Sun Bingwen to give a proper reply.

Looks like these two people are really treating him like a little kid, ordering him around as they wish. Sun Bingwen simply sighed to himself and proceeded inside.

Once inside, he joined his other friends at the pool table. He did not drink the entire time because he would drive later.

If Shao Rong was not with him, he would drink to his wish and get a designated driver for himself. But he knew that Shao Rong avoided strangers and he took upon himself the responsibility of her safety and thus avoided drinking for the night.

In the middle of his game, he took several glances at Shao Rong and Ren Weimin who drank so much that their cheeks started to flush. He didn't know what they were talking about but he observed that Weimin was always looking intently at her while Shao Rong was speaking with a polite smile latched to her face.

Looking at him who is always glancing at his potential 'girlfriend' Bingwen's friends teased him. "Our Bingwen looks like he was smitten by Ms Shao there. How many times did he peek at her in the past few minutes already?"

At his words all the other friends who were in the hearing range laughed hard looking at Sun Bingwen.

He felt weird being coupled together with Shao Rong whom he treated as his sister from his heart. Since Shao Rong just wanted to fool Ren Weimin, he decided to come clean in front of his friends in order to avoid any further misunderstandings.

So he beckoned a few of them over with a signal with his hands and whispered, "She is not my blind date. She is just like my sister. I guess she is trying to make someone jealous." As he said the word jealous he gave a look towards the place where Shao Rong was seated.

Everyone simultaneously looked in the direction following him and blinked at the ambiguous air between the two new people today. Though they were doing nothing intimate, the air between them shouted romance, not allowing anyone to think otherwise.

They looked like they were talking something casually but the way Ren Weimin followed every action of hers with his eyes and the way Shao Rong pursed her lips at every word he spoke to stop herself from showing any other expression than being neutral or a polite smile spoke that no one can enter their little world.

Everyone subconsciously nodded their heads and looked at Sun Bingwen and they did not find any traces of jealousy in him making everyone believe his words that he treated Shao Rong as a sister and nothing more.
