Well, it could be that she is more than a sheep, but that as of now doesn't matter. Mother was mother, and until she breathes her last, it will be so. Regardless of what she truly is under her guise.

The sweet smell of something I knew all to well among those who relished the pleasure of killing or a need to permeated the air. 

A flash rose in my mind;

this was once when the prey that the wolves had been hunting had gone into stampede rushing to where I had hid. 

At that time my birth mother had rushed from the pack of "chasers¹ " sprinting directly in my direction. 

Unleashing her bloodlust immediately causing the entire herd of prey to faint from fear. 

Seeing this, I felt excitement and not fear because mother's form had swollen to five times its normal size only to go on a rampage.
