I go into the living room and fathers' eyes fix on me. I know what he is thinking. There is curiosity in his stare. The ritual is complete, he is trying to see if there is anything different in me. 

I don't know if he can sense it. the thing that Beau told me. the scents within me. I can't tell, so I doubt he would be able to. My eyes shift away from him and to the other people in the room. They are all strangers, people I have never met in my life, but I know who they are instantly.
