"Come on… work on some more Fuinjutsu, you're better at it then me," I beg my clone who continues to ignore me.
"Nope," he spoke as before leaving the house.
I guess i'll do it myself.
I want to create a new completely original seal. I haven't made one sense the rolling cup one. All the other ones were made using others' work as a base line, Hatake Nõka, Senju Tobirama, and… what is Orochimarus family name?
Anyways as I was saying all my seals use the research and the matrix of existing seals. I just change what they can do. My barrier was made from a prototype of a large scale barrier that was not meant to move.
But the question is what kind of seal do I wish to create?
I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I'm lacking that can be solved with Fuinjutsu.
I could always make that shrapnel bomb that's been in queue sense its conception.
Or maybe something… medical related? No that's a delicate matter, best not to try something along those lines until I'm further along in my medical career.
I want something with some utility. Unfortunately one's utility is often only revealed after one is proficient with said item.
Unless… said item was already widely known for its utility. Then no need to worry,
Of course that means there's not much reason to create a substitute if said item not only gets the job done but also does it pretty well.
Let's back up a bit on the utility part and get a bit more specific.
Real simple.
Attaching one object to another.
It will have to be strong and durable, otherwise there's really no use where regular ninjas wire would do.
It's a really simple idea in concept but I could already foresee problems I'll need to work around.
The first and tallest hurdle would be making the seal quick and easy to deploy. It needs to be quick, really quick, an easy one, two, and you're tied to a tree and I'm already running away.
Playing around with a few possible ways to go about designing the seal, I decided to go with tags as the catalyst for the seal. As much as I would just love to touch someone and leave one of the two seals necessary for activation that would require a proficiency I don't have.
Creating seals with a touch is hard.
I can do it.
It just takes a few hours and the proficiently i spoke of earlier.
Now the next problem would be that I'll end up leaving these laying around and won't always be able to retrieve them.
The possibility that these seals could be reverse-engineered is much higher. I already refuse to let others take a look at my seals, especially Minato, that man would just need a glance and he could recreate my seal perfectly.
Though he could definitely just make a better one.
So I either accept these seals will be leaked and reverse-engineered eventually or implement a failsafe.
How to go about this?
I could just do what i did with my barrier seals. Put them inside something else and should someone attempt to take it out improperly they would destroy themselves.
But that would add a layer of complexity for something I already have to prepare in advance.
Lots to think about…
For now I'll just try to get a working prototype.

"So this is where you've been…"
Opening my eyes I look up to see the most attractive individual I've ever seen.
Myself.
"Hey me, what brings you to my local of relaxation," I say to my elder clone.
Taking a seat next to me he looks off into the village.
"So how long do you have left?" He asks, glancing over at me.
"An hour tops, likely less though," I responded in a casual manner unbefitting the topic of discussion, which was my impending doom.
"The original can save you ya know?"
"I know…"
"You're weird."
"I'm you."
"I suppose."
We do not speak again. This silence continues, tell broken nearly an hour later.
"Wow I can feel you destabilizing," The R&D clone spoke as he poked at me
"Stop that," I say swiping away his hand.
"I guess this is goodbye?" He asked.
"Yeah… goodbye."
With the last of my existence I push my senses out over the village, for a moment I can feel many different kinds of Chakra before it all disappears.
Before coming back?
Opening my eyes I flinch as my head threatens to split open.
Looking around I see I'm in my study. A vial of ink is on its side leaking its contents onto the table.
Memories.
Those were my clone's memories.
That's… interesting.
Getting out of my chair I look down at all my progress… covered in ink… lovely.
You know if my R&D clone met an unfortunate accident I may have an easier time with my new seal.
