[Johan's POV]
"Have you spoken with your Dad yet, Hijo?"
Johan scowled behind the book he was reading. Days had passed since the confrontational dinner where Ivan had struck him in the face for his snarky remarks. His father hadn't spoken to him since, and he won't either. Johan reached for the glass on the table and took a sip of the raspberry iced tea, not giving a direct answer but a shrug.
From across the circular table in the veranda, his grandfather put down his own teacup with a sigh. "Your Dad is about to report back to duty. Are you going to let him go without patching things up?"
"There's nothing new about that, Grandpa. I'm used to him leaving all the time."
"A man's life in the army is not that easy, Hijo. There will always be danger in every mission they take. The least you can do is to pacify any resentment he may have felt because we don't know until when he'll come home... alive."
Why you gotta be so weak to half-naked guys, Johan? LOL!
Russell had distracted me so much that I'm forgetting the purpose of this long-ass flashback arc is to show the beautiful friendship of Johan and Raymond — and why he can't move on.
Limerence — a state of mind resulting from romantic attraction. A love that isn't purely physical, but more about emotional attachment to someone — to the point of obsession.
