Grim, irritated all over again, Trill tossed her hands. "There's nothing we can do about that now," she said, like they'd had this conversation before. Well, I hadn't. "You know that. Stay on track."

"What about the maji?" They'd disappeared from Center and Core, gone their own way from what I understood. At first, I'd thought they'd vanished with the other races who went with the elemental magicks. But according to the ex-Fates they weren't in the void after all, were nowhere to be found.

They had to be somewhere. So where?
