Bab 165: Moving Shadows

Thane, Kelic, and I head back to the house but when I see that the lights are still on, I sigh. I was hoping they'd be asleep but I guess that was just wishful thinking. Thane and I were just planning on going ourselves but Kelic insists on going as well for added protection. He's afraid I'll be snatched away like a defenseless maiden.

As soon as I open the door, my parents jump up from the couch and rush over with fear and worry all over their faces. I awkwardly smile at them as I say "I'm fine, I promise. Is everyone here okay?" My mother runs her hands over my arms as Hunter smirks and says "Of course." 

CheeChee comes flying straight at me before smacking into my face. I stumble back a few inches as CheeChee rubs his little face all over mine in an aggressive manner. I giggle at the little guy and rub him back as I say "It's good to see you too. You did well, CheeChee."
