Bab 24: Chapter 24: A Storm Is Coming Part 2

*Meadow*

I woke up ready for an adventure. I was smiling more now, and I only noticed that after looking my cheeks pink in the mirror instead of the pale shade they used to have. I really couldn't wait to see where we were going.

I heard a knock on my door, and I rushed to open it, only to find a tired and sad Caleb. My heart sank to the floor as he tried to force a smile for me, so I took his hand and pulled him in. "What happened? Are you ok?"

He sighed and I led him to my couch, he immediately pulled me with him when he sat and I landed on his lap sideways, as it seemed to be our comfort pose. He didn't want to talk, it should be something terrible, and so I let him take his time while I hugged him, resting my head on his shoulder. He laid his head on top of mine while he took a deep breath, and I felt him slowly relax. After about 10 minutes of silence, he finally kissed my forehead and spoke. "I am sorry, you deserve better..."
