Crynn POV
"We need a passcode to open the cockpit door," I helpfully said, pointing to the pad with numeral digital buttons on it. "It-It is si-six, six, six, six (6666)," wow, ehm... whoever designed such a passcode must really have a deep hatred to the most popular faith on Earth. "The devil's numbers, fantastic," Aria chuckled in disdain as Jill entered in the four digit code.
The red colored pad turned green as the door opened in automation. "A gruesome sight, this is," V just had to say because it really is quite gore and sad. Both the pilot and the co-pilot is pretty much dead. One has a gaping hole through his head and the other has three very large chunks of his chest gone, and when I mean gone, I mean splattered everywhere.
At least they died in an instant. "I had to say, I watched a lot of Saw and this in reality beats it by a whole other level," Aria whistled as she pushed the two dead carcasses off the seat. And as per the stewardess' words, the front windshield is fully destroyed but an emergency metal reinforced windshield is extended to replace the displacement.
"So, Calian with me, let's see how to drive this thing," Jill commanded as she and Calian sat down on the pilot seats, hands on their laps. "Controls all looking usual. We've got throttle and the engines are on stationary which means it's running but only partially. There's radar and autopilot controls," Jill started counting everything on the consoles, looking at all of them while figuring out which does which.
"Looks like we have enemy incoming. 5 glaring red dots on the radar," Calian warned as he looked at the far side of the radar and up towards the windshield where indeed exactly 5 metal constructs in the distance away is making its way here. "The Crystal Palace. We need to have an emergency landing."
"V, can you help us find an area preferably made of glass or any transparent material on the outer side of the Crystal Palace. We'll die and explode if we crash head into reinforced metal plating but with glass, even strengthened glass, our chances of living is heightened," Jill requested V as she gazed through one of the side windows at the massive space station.
"I think that there is a window just below the first huge ring," you think? I guess gambling is a fun once in a while. "We should get moving quick, enemies are getting closer," Aria advised as Jill looked at Calian and him at her, "Start engines, pull for throttle and control wheels inverted." And it started, Jill switched the engines on while Calian moved the throttle to full power.
The space ship is slowly moving and accelerating by every second. "Move the control wheels right and slightly upwards," Jill clearly the pilot here is doing a wonderful job instructing her fellow co-pilot, Calian who needs no more saying but do as she told him to do. "We're picking up speed, once we're close enough to the Crystal Palace, we need to do direct brakes," Jill spoke and I could see the logic.
Crashing full speed at something is much more dangerous than crashing full speed with a short brake, two differences that could save lives. "The enemy spaceships are armed with what looks to be damn big auto cannons," I said as we moved through space at a commendable speed towards the Crystal Palace, it does look beautiful but maybe it's too extravagant in appearance, in a bad way.
"You can't further increase the speed?" V spoke anxiously as the enemy is inching closer. "The speed is still accelerating, I can't directly increase it any more, planes do not work that way," Jill shouted as beads of sweat starts to form on her head, this is very adrenaline inducing and fearful at the same time, so cold sweat is extremely normal in this sort of case.
One of the enemy warships have entered ideal firing territory by the way it stopped. "Evasive maneuvers?" I managed to voice moments before the first shots were fired. The rounds were big, thick and long, any one of those could fully decimate our jet if we are not careful. "Move down, move down!" Aria pressed hard on a nearby support as our pilots controlled the stirring wheel for a sudden dive.
"This is Crystal Palace Control, do you copy? Your flight has entered restricted airspace!" And if it just isn't enough, the communications system just had to ring in from the Crystal Palace Control which is clearly trying to shoo us away, that's not gonna happen. "Sh*t, I forgot!" What, what are you forgetting about, V?
"The Crystal Palace has powerful and extensive defensive systems! Manual and automated targeting turrets as well as homing missiles!" That is bad, that is so, so bad! "Well, we have no choice but to depend on our great, great luck! We will make it with Jill's and V's protagonist halos!" Calian chuckled in insanity as he pressed on a blue button!
"We're disengaging needless cargo!" Lighten ourselves? Not a bad idea but would that even do a percentage of help? "Warning shots given, leave the vicinity of the Crystal Palace!" two huge rounds clipped pass our cockpit as communications sounded, piece of sh*t. "Missiles incoming! Brace ourselves!" Jill alerted us as she pressed a switch!
Flares came out from all angles, front and I presume side as well as back! The two missiles coming after us exploded in the vacuum without a single noise. "How close are we?" Aria asked as the jet continued to dodge and weave every single fire from the enemy ships. Apparently, Jill and Calian are Goddamn experts in space flight!
"500 meters," Jill said as she pressed some more buttons. BOOM!!! What was that?! The plane shook like crazy there! "Engines down! I repeat engines down! Current speed is accelerated from the pressure blast! V, Ariane, Crynn, go out of the cockpit and strap yourselves to the jump seats! And brace for impact!"
