The pizza restaurant they went to was a sit-down one. Thankfully they had highchairs available. They borrowed one for Emma and stuck it at the edge of the table.
She kept trying to play with the placard indicating their order number that they had been given by the cashier. Ethan made a sort of game out of taking it back from her. It kept her giggling adorably right up until the pizza arrived.
They all ate happily for a while until a random woman probably in her sixties stopped at their table looking like she had seen a ghost. "…Eric?"
Everyone exchanged a bewildered glance. "Uh, no. Nobody named Eric here, sorry."
A preteen girl from a nearby table realized what was going on and embarrassedly came to drag her away. "Grandma! You can't bother random people like this."
