Bab 265: He Would Always Have Her

Claire blinked at Ethan in shock. Where did he get that idea?! Had somebody been filling his head with nonsense or was this some bizarre version of getting cold feet like an anxious groom before a wedding? 

She couldn't understand his reasoning. He had hated foster care and seemed genuinely happy here so why would he even bring that up? 

There was only one potential reason she could think of. Her schedule. She wasn't a proper guardian for him anyway and he finally resented her for leaving him with Alex all the time. Either that or he was hung up on the fact that the rest of his friends had two parents and he didn't want a single mom. Amara didn't seem to mind it though; she adored her adoptive mother. 

"Do you want someone different to be your mom? I would understand if—"
