Bab 76: One Touch
I did a full rest in the demon realm. Lilith took care of me while I'm resting, and the rest of the demons kept praising me. Making sure to let me know that they respected me even more now. In the demon realm, Lilith has been building temples to make the realm looked better. I was in one of the temples with Lilith, Io, and Callisto.
"Ugh, make them shut their mouths," I groaned, implying to the loud demons that kept chanting my name from outside the temple.
Lilith smiled. "I'm sorry, young master. I tried but they couldn't contain their excitement,"
"Hh," I let out an exaggerated sigh.
"Enjoy your victory little master," Io, who's floating beside me smiling slyly. "You deserved it,"
"I know, but how can I rest in peace if those twerps are being loud outside?" I snapped at Io.
"Shh,"
When I was about to get up, Callisto pushed my back down with his hand. He floated up in the air, facing me.
"Sleep," He yawned and closed his eyes.
I sighed. Lilith only giggled.
Time stopped in the other world when I'm in the demon realm. It'll be better if I rest and regain my power back here before rescuing Arden. I'm worried about him. I hope that stupid mage didn't torture him like what Alphonse did to Arden a long time ago.
"... Can Arden come to this realm?" I asked Lilith.
"No, unfortunately. But you don't have to worry, young master. Time stopped there, master Arden will be just fine," Lilith reassured me.
"Yeah, you're right...,"
"You're worried about him hm?"
"..." I glared at Io who's smirking at me.
"He's worried about his boyfriend,"
"!!!"
I quickly get up from my position. The blood is rushing up to my face. I can see how red my face is mentally.
"H-He's not my boyfriend!?" I blurted out, completely flustered.
Io only smiled, Lilith giggled at me. Callisto looked at me with a sleepy look.
"Sure. A normal friend that kissed your hand,"
"Urp-"
I covered my face to avoid any further embarrassment.
My goddamn pride. Gone.
Curse these demons for teasing me.
"Whatever... Let's go back,"
"You're that impatient to meet your boyfriend?"
"Io I'm going to trample you," I threatened him.
Io frowned playfully. "That's quite mean,"
"Stop teasing young master, Io!" Lilith scolded Io.
Io looked at Lilith, still with a frown. "But I didn't~?"
I rolled my eyes
I closed my eyes to focus again so that I could teleport back to the real world. It's easier to come and go through realms now. When I arrived back to the field, I groaned when I saw the mage's dead body is still there. I stood up from the ground walked to the bunker.
This cold humid space reminded me of when I got abducted by Arden's father. I frowned at the memory. I bet this brought back horrible memories to Arden. The thought of it is pissing me off.
"Arden?"
When I reached the lower floor, I checked the empty cells.
"!"
Our eyes met. My heart almost stopped when I saw his condition. Chained up, clothes all ripped off, mouth stuffed by cloth. Arden frowned at me.
"Hmp," He mumbled.
I quickly walked into the cell through the destroyed bars.
"Io,"
"I'm here," Io appeared beside me.
"Break the chains," I ordered him whilst taking off the cloth from Arden's mouth.
Arden started to cough violently. He must've been dehydrated. When Io easily broke the chains, I caught Arden into my embrace. I tried to comfort him by patting his back. Io is staring at me, and I signaled him to go away. Io nodded and disappeared.
The coughing stopped, and now it's just filled with silence. Arden rested his chin onto my shoulder. His skin is cold.
"... I'm embarrassed," He whispered.
His mouth is a bit close to my ear, causing me to shivered by it.
"Why?" I asked quietly.
"I was sent by your father to look after you... but in the end, I just caused you trouble. You're supposed to have a peaceful life at school, I'm sorry for being weak,"
"Arden," I pulled away from his embrace. He won't look at me in the eyes. I gently grabbed his chin with my hand to meet his eyes. "All of this is not your fault. Nothing will change even if it's Juno who's watching over me. The mage is too powerful. Trust me, it took a lot of time to defeat him. You're not weak," I smiled.
Arden glanced at me, searching deep into my eyes. His glistening golden orbs are captivating.
"Don't blame yourself okay?" I grinned. "Please keep watching over me,"
"..."
"!"
It felt surreal.
Like my head was hovering into space when his lips met mine. The sound of my heartbeat echoed in the empty cell, And butterflies started to swarm around the inside of my stomach. Twisting my stomach into a knot.
He broke the kiss and looked me seriously in the eyes.
"I love you, Ezra,"
