"Master Sol, wake up, " Silver said shaking me slightly out of bed, "You have to prepare for the Eclipse Festival, before it starts next week."
"Uhhh... give me 10 minutes..."
Silver removes the blanket covering me as he lets out a dark aura while smiling, "Excuse my rudeness, Master, but I would have let that go if it wasn't the 7th time you said that today. So get up from the royal sheets, or I'll have to drag you out of it!"
"Nooooo I don't wanna wake up yet! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! SILVER PLEASE SPARE ME!!!!"
The Eclipse Festival. It's an annual tradition to celebrate the peace and unity between the Light and Dark Kingdoms. Long ago, the Light Kingdom sealed the Dark Kingdom underground after a long and violent war. Sealed by a gate, only by the blood of royalty from the Light Kingdom who believes the Dark Kingdom deserves forgiveness, they will be released. Any person who enters the Dark Kingdom however, would die by the Queen of the Dark Kingdom after the first one killed her eldest daughter, Princess Lilith. Princess Luna, however, angry with the Queen's manslaughter, was banished from the Dark Kingdom. Enter Prince Solaris, aka me, who ran away because of other reasons I'll explain in another story, fell down to the underground and met Princess Luna. Together as best friends, they went on a journey through the underground to negotiate with the Queen. The Queen not listening to the Prince attacked him with no mercy, killing the Princess as a result. The Princess was healed by the Prince's magic, the Queen apologized for her actions, and agreed to accept peace between both Kingdoms. The prince opened the gate, and they all lived happily ever after in harmony.
About 4 years have passed since those events though, and I've always been in charge of the Eclipse Festival. It's not that I don't like doing the Eclipse Festival every year, I love doing it, and Lu gets to help me with it all. I'm just a lazy butt.
"So, when is Lu coming, Silver?"
"Princess Luna will be coming shortly, Master, " he said assuring me.
"I can't wait."
He began to give me a devious, yet teasing smirk, "Is it because you LOVE her, Master~?"
"W-What?! No! S-She's just my best friend!"
"And I don't suppose you bringing a girl to your chambers yesterday doesn't mean anything~, " he says while looking at me with his hypnotizing grey eyes.
For the love of Fantasia, if it wasn't for my memories as a female, I wouldn't think he's hot and wouldn't be so hesitant like this! I wanna slap his face, but I'd be proving him right. Aaaaaaaaah, why is life not fair?!
"I just wanted time with her, that's all. Besides... I already like someone else. And she's... already engaged with another Kingdom.
Silver pauses for a moment, "You like someone else?"
"Y-Yeah..."
He looks away with a concerned look in his eyes, "Is it... someone in this castle?"
"I can't tell you, that's a secret. It's not like they would accept my love anyway."
He stopped what he was doing after he finished dressing me up, then stayed quiet as he left the room. What was that about? Did I do something wrong?
Meeting up with Lu, and working on the festival, I eventually discussed what happened between me and Silver. She was glad I cleared that fact with Silver, but then looked at me with concerned eyes.
"Do you wish... we were together, " she asked me straight up with a sad smile.
"Sometimes... but we can't change it. It's for the sake of your Kingdom, after all. I'll always be your best friend, and if your fiancé doesn't treat you well, I'll remind him on how special you are and why you deserve all the respect."
She giggled in relief, "Yeah, you're right. Thanks Sol. And what about Silver?"
I looked at her confused, "What about Silver?"
"Well, the way you portrayed him, it sounds like he was upset you didn't tell him who your interest was, " she explained, "Even though it's a lie when you said that you had one."
Silver upset about me not confessing who my interest is. Looking back, he was acting strange the whole day. I brushed it off because maybe it was something I said and he would brush it off too all the same. But for the first time since I've known him, he was... sulking?
"But why would he be upset?"
"Why don't you ask him tomorrow, " she said confidently.
"O-Okay... I'll talk with him tomorrow."
The next day, it was Lazarus who woke me up this time, stating that Silver had to do something urgent at the Wolfkin Tribe, so he'll be gone for the week, but promises to be back when the Eclipse Festival starts. That concerned me. A lot. He always informs me! He never lets other people inform me for him. Something was really wrong. However, Lazarus hugs me out of nowhere, which brings me back to my senses.
"M-Master, are you okay now, " he said looking at me with his innocence, "Y-You looked like you were freaking out, I-I had to do something to calm you s-so... I'm s-sorry for hugging you so s-suddenly."
"It's okay Lazarus, you were trying to help. I appreciate it, thank you."
"I-If you're worried about Silver, then don't worry, h-he's very strong a-and I'm sure he has his reasons for leaving so suddenly, " he said trying to be positive, "I-I'll be here to do his work for him until then, s-so count on me!"
"Thank you Lazarus."
For the past several days, Lu and I worked on the Eclipse Festival while Lazarus with a little help from Rosalina covered for Silver's normal duties. Thinks went well for the most part, a few mistakes here and there, but overall the preparation was going smoothly. Ever now and then I worried about Silver and how he was doing over at the Wolfkin Tribe. However, I wouldn't notice it then, but I would be getting a surprise I'd never forget.
