Feng Mian stayed in the hospital for the weekend to accompany her mother. The doctor still hadn't given her any report, so her mother still has to rely on the dialysis machine. When it was Monday, Feng Mian returned back to her work. There was not much she needed to do, but she still needed to attend to make sure her presence was known.
As she leaned back, she looked at the side. One of the teams was packing their belongings. It seemed that they were cleaning out the incompetent employees after this project.
"It's early in the busy season, but the number of employees is decreasing," Yu Yan commented. She was sipping a box of chocolate milk as she put the document on her table. "It seems that they want to decrease the cost and begin to eliminate the unneeded ones."
Feng Mian nodded. From last year, there were a lot of new employees as the company was trying to expand. In the past few months, many of them were sent to the branches but there were also a lot who were kicked out. This time it was harsher because two teams were directly kicked out.
Su Han snorted. "They're not capable enough, so they're just eating up the spaces. Besides, I heard that the company will start to expand overseas. They need more budgets and efficient workers."
"Right."
Recalling what Zhang Liang told her before, Feng Mian knew that the company would be even busier later when they took on more projects. Even though they would need a lot of manpower, they needed to pick those reliable ones who would not eat up the spaces in the company. After a bit of restructuring, those who stayed here were only those who were competent in their work.
Internally, Feng Mian was a bit worried that she wouldn't be able to work as well as others since she would need to apply to work from home.
With Zhang Liang at home, she might be able to work even faster as his cold gaze was exceptionally terrifying. Thinking about that, Feng Mian quickly decided that it would be for the best if she didn't try to cross paths with him as much as possible.
"Well, this is the review from the production department. They have some requests for our next design."
"Oh? Let me see."
Feng Mian took the report and scanned through it. She smiled bitterly as she thought of those people working hard because the design Yu Yan made was quite difficult. It was different from a normal box because they opened it in a similar way as they opened letters, but the shape for the box made it a bit harder to make.
However, since the design was accepted by the higher ups, they have no other choice but to follow through it.
"The printing is going well, though. They want your advice a bit, so you might need to take a visit to other floors," Yu Yan pointed to the lift.
Knowing what Yu Yan meant, Feng Mian rose from her seat and nodded. "I'll return back later."
Those who were in charge of designing sometimes also needed to take a look at the process and helped out there. Sometimes, they could not be sure that the color was suitable because of the difference in printer and computer. This was not the fashion business, so those related to design was not as good as theirs.
For the rest of the day, Feng Mian stayed with the production team to instruct them on the color and all.
It was only 6 PM that her work ended.
"Thank you for your help today. Good work, Feng Mian," the production team leader thanked Feng Mian.
"I didn't do much. Thank you for the good work, Leader," Feng Mian replied, not taking any credit for her.
"You're really too humble."
Feng Mian smiled. She really didn't do anything because this was not her part. She was also unfamiliar with those machines, so she didn't bother getting close and only instructed when they showed the examples.
"President Zhang!"
Hearing the two words, Feng Mian nearly dropped her bag. She glanced to the side and saw Zhang Liang walk in large strides with Secretary He following behind him. From the cold aura emanating from the man's body, no one dared to come closer. They didn't understand why the president was in bad mood, but no one wanted to be the black sheep.
They all greeted and bowed respectfully. Internally, everyone was praying hard that the president would not target them.
'Why is he here today?' Feng Mian thought that Zhang Liang didn't come to this company today because he usually only comes here once or twice a week. Most of his time was spent in a different company that belonged to him too because the location was more strategic and easy to reach other companies belonged to him.
"Feng Mian."
ME?
Feng Mian nearly screamed inside her mind, but she kept her expression. She lifted her head and looked at Zhang Liang with an innocent expression. "Yes, President."
"Come with me."
After saying that, Zhang Liang didn't bother to wait for Feng Mian's response as he strode out. Feng Mian wanted to cry. What did she do wrong today? She turned to look at the production's team leader, but he merely smiled wryly and beckoned for her to follow the president.
At the same time, he mouthed out, 'Good luck.'
She needed more than just luck….
Steeling her heart, Feng Mian walked out of the room to the lift. Zhang Liang was using his private lift, which had been repaired recently since it broke a few days ago. However, they were not going up as Feng Mian thought. They were actually going down.
"President, where are we going?"
"Restaurant A."
"Restaurant A?" Feng Mian repeated with confused expression. Why would they go there?
Zhang Liang passed a glance at Feng Mian. "We're going to meet my father."
"EEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHH?"
