Bab 11: Sixteenth Date: The Blacklist
*Chirp, chirp, chirp*
It's morning already huh. My head hurts like I'm having a bad hangover. I guess this is better than damaging any body organs or parts. Afterall, yesterday fights took a lot of energy from and damages me a lot as well. But the important thing is where am I? Cause this bed doesn't feel as comfortable as the one in my bedroom.
I opened my eyes and I saw a nurse staring at me and roll her eyes. From the look of it, I'm obviously in the hospital....again.
"You must really love the hospital huh Mr.Li.", she said sarcastically.
"Yup, I miss seeing the face of the beautiful nurses here.", I smiled.
"This is not funny! When you two were brought in, you guys look like you're half-beaten to death! What were you thinking fighting each other at this age? You guys are all going to be adults soon and you still try to solve conflicts with violence?", the nurse yelled.
"Sorry to interrupt, but um..who exactly brought us in and where is that other guy that was with me?", I interrupt.
"David Chen is laying on the bed next to you and you were brought in by an old couple who saw you guys all knocked out on the ground."
"Did they leave their name? I want to thank them for helping us."
"Yes, their name are Hansel and Gretel."
"I'm sorry whuh."
"I'm not joking their name is actually Hansel and Gretel. Hansel Ang and Gretel Ang."
"Wow, thats makes me feels happy already."
"You still have that sense of humor huh, cousin. When we get discharge, let go get a meal together, My treat.", David said as he tried to get up from his bed.
This is the first time he called me cousin and speak in a low and kind voice. What the hell is going on? It's like a wolf just turned into a puppy. Did he hurt his head when he fall down?
"Hey miss nurse. Did my cousin receive any brain injuries because he's acting a little bit different. He's being nice...too nice."
"Let's see..other than some bone damage, he's completely fine. You on the other hand has broken ribs, bruises everywhere, and coughing out blood when you were admitted. So this is time you have to stay longer than last time mister.", she said.
"Wait...what? If I have that much damage, how can I still move without feeling any pain. I'm feeling better already..Ow. Never mind, I do feel some pain from my shoulder. But I'm pretty sure I can recover fast cause I have super recovery.", I smiled.
"Uh huh.", the nurse said in a sarcastic voice.
"Now you boy get some rest."
These injuries are just a scratch. I can recover within a week or so, if I had the old man helped then I'll be able to fully recover within 1 hour. Speaking of which, I'll ask Sal for help.
"Pst old man. Can you hear me?", I whispered.
"What?", Sal replied.
"Can you help me accelerate my recovery process?", I asked.
"I can, but I won't since the hospital food looks so yummy. And you should use this time to make up with David Chen and forget all your past conflict. By the way, the reason why your cousin is so nice now is because the evil in his heart has been remove since you absorb the demonic qi coming from the demon inside his body."
"Does this mean that I can go and beat anyone who's evil and make them good again?"
"No..it doesn't work that way. You see a person's evil personality is causes by the amount of Yin/Demonic qi in their body. When a person went through an event that causes them to have negative emotions such as anger, hatred, sorrow, loneliness etc, Yin/Demonic qi around them will react to this and went into their body to feed on those emotions. The more Yin/Demonic Qi someone hold in their body, the higher the chances their heart will get contaminated and making them a suitable vessels for demons and reapers to possess. But since you have my blood and me in you, you are technically immune to those effects no matter how many Qi you absorb into your body."
"Hmm that makes sense, but hey old man. Aren't you forgetting something important? You might not get it done if you let me stay here."
"What could I possibly forget?"
"Didn't you want me to go rob that museum where the second forbidden relics of the Underworld is held? If I I'm hospitalize here then you are just delaying the time.", I laughed.
"Damn it kid! Are you blackmailing me!?"
"Yup. Now are you going to help me recover or not."
"Grr..kid. Fine you won this time! But this is going to take a couple of hours so use this time to reconnect with your newly reborn cousin."
As Sal finished talking, he has already form a yellow green color light orb, condense it into his index finger and touched my forehead. I could feel the light flowing throughout my body and healing my damage bones, internal injuries, and bruises. But like he said it going to take a couple hours before my body heal completely so I should gather some information from David.
"Hey...cousin...how are your injuries?", I said in an awkward voice.
"Other than some pain in the back and chest, I'm completely fine. Listen, Terry, I know that I have always been a complete jerk to you, but you still save me from that demon so I'm sorry. I'm sorry about me. I'm sorry about how I've treated you all this time. I'm sorry for all those mean things that I said to you. I'm a terrible person. I don't deserve to be your cousin.", he said as tears are falling down from his eyes.
Oh god, he's being sincere and apologizing! Now I felt a little weird and awkward as fuck.
"David...its alright. Whats in the past is in the past. What's important right now is the present. So lets forget all the conflicts between us and starts over. Lets support and help each other from now on.", I replied kindly and forced a smile.
"Wah! Cousin!", David cried louder as he hug me tightly
"Choking..choking.", I struggled.
"I'm sorry cousin, but that was too touching. You're such a great person."
"Aaaanyway, do you know any gang members or gang leaders? I'm suspecting that all of the recent fires are related to them so I want to investigate a little."
"Yeah let me write them down for you." *Write*
"Here you go. This is everyone I know. I hope it helps."
He didn't hesitate one bit and not ask why I wanted it. Wow. I'm like Joker from Persona 5. I'm literally changing people heart by absorbing their Yin/Demonic Qi. Maybe I should create my own "Take your Heart" logo and symbol.
"Thanks David. Now lets see who's on the blacklist.
