Either because she was too tired yesterday or because the bed was so comfortable, Shouko slept for almost ten hours straight before waking up. She felt so refreshed after a good night's sleep yet she still reluctant to part with the comfy bed. Her man was nowhere to be seen even though it was only a little over seven o'clock.
He said he would prepare breakfast today. Is he in the kitchen?
Shouko rolled on the bed a few more times before she lazily got up. After doing a couple of stretches to awaken her stiff limbs, Shouko began to tidy up the bed; plumping up the pillows and folding the quilt neatly.
"Ah, it's a really beautiful morning."
Shouko sighed in contentment once she pulled up the curtains to the sides, revealing the breathtaking view of the calm lake in the early morning. She opened the windows, thinking that it was such a waste to not let the fresh air circulate inside the room.
A slice of life chapter with a bit of a happy (bittersweet) ending?
Enjoy!
