And just moments ago, there was that instant where she really wanted to struggle free from his grasp and just let herself fall to her death.
But then she thought, even if she died, it wouldn't affect him at all, and she couldn't take anything of his with her. Dying like that would be too pointless.
"Do you believe I would let go and let you fall to your death?"
Chicheng's eyes narrowed, a dangerous gleam flashing through them. Anning's heart trembled, but her expression remained calm.
She was so fearless, and yet he was utterly helpless against her.
"One day, I'll take care of you."
Grinding his teeth, Chicheng warned Anning, then seemed to easily lift her back up without much effort.
Anning reacted swiftly, extending her other hand to grasp the window frame as soon as she was within reach.
Chicheng flipped over, ready to jump out of the window, when Anning suddenly wrapped her arms around his thigh, "Uncle, please don't leave me behind."
