Yun wondered why she was smiling and followed her gaze only to see she was smiling at Yang Lei.
"Do you like him by chance?" Yun asked with a smirk. He had attended the same high school with Yang Lei and hadn't particularly liked him back then.
"Who? She asked in confusion before turning back to look at Yang Lei then back at him,
"You mean the grandson of Chairman Yang?"
Lijuan asked with a frown. By now they no longer needed to whisper to each under their breath. The people who had been sharing the same table with them had left the table for them to sit elsewhere because of their incessant chatter.
"Yes. Isn't he the one you were just smiling at?" Yun asked with a raised brow.
"Don't tell me you're jealous." Lijuan said with a giggle.
"Jealous? Of him? I'm more handsome, richer, more intelligent and far more responsible than he is. So what's there to be jealous of?" Yun asked her with a scoff.
"You're probably jealous because you think I like him." Lijuan said liking the idea that he was probably really jealous. She didn't mind having two guys fight over her, that would really be an ego booster for her.
"Liking someone like him will only show your poor taste in guys. Besides I already told them you're my fiancee. I doubt he's going to be interested in you." Yun said with a satisfied smile.
"Don't worry, I understand even though you don't want to admit it." Lijuan gave him a cheeky smile before taking out her phone.
She paused and frowned while staring blankly like she was thinking about something.
"What is it?" He asked when he noticed her strange look.
She used a hand to touch her lower abdomen and cocked her head to the side like she was seriously thinking about something but shook her head.
"Nothing." She finally answered when he asked for the second time.
"I need to check on Shan... she isn't feeling very well." Lijuan said with a frown as she opened her phone. She had been so busy she had forgotten to check on her bestfriend.
"She is okay. Don't worry about it." Yun informed her.
"How do you know that?" Lijuan asked giving him a weird look.
"Jinhai took her to the hospital already. I'm pretty sure he is still with her." He explained.
"Oh! That explains how you got to know I am here and why you're here. Did Shan put you up to this?" She asked looking at him with curiosity.
"I didn't see her. I just told you Jinhai went to her not me." Yun said patiently but she didn't stop looking at him suspiciously.
A notification from 'Love at first click' popped up on her screen the moment she turned on her phone. She quickly put the phone on silent mode before clicking on it.
Yun who knew that notification sound well enough could tell she just logged in the dating site.
"What are you doing?" He asked when he noticed she was typing.
"Responding to a message." She said with a coy smile.
"Whose message?" He asked as he took out his phone to confirm if she was replying to his message.
"My boyfriend's." Lijuan told him before returning her attention to her phone.
He cocked a brow at her as he watched her type on. Boyfriend? She was chatting with other guys there apart from him and already had a boyfriend? He shook his head. Maybe she was lying. She was a good liar after all.
And just as he thought, she actually sent a message to him on the site..
"I'm okay dearie. Just busy. Thanks for checking on me. Are you fine?" She sent the text to Sexy Yun as a reply to his previous message.
When Yun saw her message pop in, he shook his head. So she was actually claiming to date his online dating avatar and also pretending to be her boyfriend in real life?
Yun already put his phone on silent mode so his phone didn't make any notification sound. He saw her message and smirked at the 'just busy' line she used.
"I'm okay. What are you busy doing? Are you drawing by chance?" He text back.
"Not at all. I'm at an auction... A really boring one at that."
"Oh! Sorry about that. Are you there alone?" Sexy Yun asked wanting to know what she was going to say.
"No. Yun is here with me." She texted
"Really? You're like an item now?" Sexy Yun typed with a smirk on his face.
Lijuan glanced up to look at Yun and frowned when she noticed he was also focused on his phone with a smile on his face.
"What are you doing?" She asked him with a frown.
"Seeing as you're busy with your phone and I'm bored I decided to keep myself occupied." Yun said raising his head to look at her.
She frowned when she realized he hadn't responded to her comment about responding to her boyfriend's text. He didn't even seem concerned by it.
"Ouch!" She felt another sharp pain in her lower abdomen and gasped. Her eyes widened as she processed what was going on.
"Now the moment we have all been waiting for... We are moving to the last item on the list. I'm sure most of you ladies came for this outstanding piece of Jewelry." The Auctioneer announced with a smile as the Necklace was brought forward.
Lijuan quickly dropped her phone to focus her attention on the stage but she suddenly felt another sharp pain in her lower abdomen again and knew she was seriously in trouble.
She scrunched her face and bit her lips to keep herself from crying out. How could her menstrual cramp decide to start now of all times!?
Yun noticed the change in her disposition and frowned. "Are you okay?" He asked with a concerned frown.
How was she to tell him she was unprepared for her menstruation? Her cramp was always a terrible one especially for the first few hours and she was even wearing a white gown. What was she to do? If only it had been regular, she would have been prepared for it.
"No." She said shaking her head in pain and embarrassment. This was not a time to lie.... she wasn't okay.
"What's wrong?" He asked in worry as he noticed she was beginning to sweat.
"Well.. I.." To make it less embarrassing, she decided to use one of those slangs for it and desperately prayed he would understand...
"My aunt came visiting.." She said and looked at him with pleading eyes. 'Please understand!' She silently prayed.
Yun frowned in confusion.
"Your aunt? So why do you look like this? Is she sick or something?" He asked guessing it was probably the reason she looked pale.
Lijuan almost cried from frustration.
"I mean..." She closed her eyes and clenched her fists together as she announced to him, "My period just started!"
