Walking through the bricked walled corridors, Ye Jing-e notices that there is no source of light. This is not a modern era, albeit there are distinct light sources even in the modern era. The air is cool and breezy. Ye Jing-e realises that he hasn't come across any windows yet.
The priestess is walking ahead of him. No matter how much he increases his pace, she is always ahead of him by two metres. She has been quiet for the whole time -- and he hasn't been able to break this silence as if there is an imperceptible pressure on his tongue. He shouldn't break the silence.
There are no guards either. He hasn't seen anyone else other than the priestess yet. Where are the others? There is a chance that they aren't in the world yet. The first one to get off the train was Rue-Yim. Then, he got off. Hong Gwi and Qin might not be in the world yet. They have different time limits and different missions.

Do you know that living in a polluted city can affect your brain and age your body by a decade or so? It can give you skin rashes, cancer, heart disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, and acute respiratory infections and many more. Worldwide ambient air pollution accounts for: 29% of all deaths and disease from lung cancer (Source: WHO).
The pollution in this author's city is Severe. She can literally feel the impact on her eyes and skin. She can taste/smell it -- and it doesn't taste/smell good. Everything in her house including herself gets a fine layer of dust in every few hours. When she bathes, the water turns black as if she had jumped into the pool of soot.
So, if this author becomes dumb (pollution effect on the brain) and becomes a slow person/writer, forgive her. She just lives in a gas chamber.
It is surprising for this author how watching stars in the sky seem to be a fantasy now.
If your city has low pollution, you are lucky. This author is envious.
