Bab 36: The Twelfth Night - Part 3 - Jolting Energy
Light rays piercing through the wavy surface and reached the dashing terror, approaching the immobilized Renir.
The whirling stopped and the water creatures disperse as their lord, the Water Sentinel made its second entrance.
Renir, frozen on the spot, moving as if he lost all his power and reverted back into a normal human that he was. The compression from his surroundings was too much so he had no choice but to just prepare for impact.
His feet lost its warmth and his limbs became slightly numb. The rushing big fish was getting closer
How will he react and save himself?
But fortunately for him, there are no hard surfaces that could act as a wall for him to be smashed.
As long as he survived the initial impact, he could use that opportunity to try and attack!
Behind every risk is an opportunity, and Renir will execute this phrase.
Boom*!
The impact created a larger shockwave that traveled farther than Renir's slap.
Blood came gushing out of Renir's mouth as he was stuck at the head of the Water Sentinel!
He felt a few broken bones on his limbs and several broken ribs that pierced his organs.
'Shit! Shit! Shit! SHIT!!!', it was so painful Renir was paralyzed as his thought could only curse.
That was an impact heavier than a bus traveling at a hundred!
But Renir's standards were messed up and thought that he was still too weak. He miscalculated and underestimated the force of impact that will severe his ability to think.
As if waiting for him to bleed until death, the Water Sentinel accelerated even further for Renir to be stuck on its hard "forehead" and be compressed, wanting to squeeze out the blood!
And based on Renir's state, it was cruelly working...
'What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?', the extreme pain made him think questions but not its answers.
But when he was about to lose consciousness while the water resistance was pressing against him even greater while the Water Sentinel accelerates, his eyes became desperate when he sensed death nearing.
Like a beast that was cornered, it became mindless and irrationally rampaged!
Renir flailed, desperately clawed everything he could reach but ineffective. He kicked and just made the already fractured bones completely broken.
Renir's desperation only caused the Water Sentinel to gain scratches.
From far away, it could be seen that the Water Sentinel had a hard yet flexible body. However, when Renir got the excruciating chance, he learned that the skin of the Water Sentinel was rough and had layers.
It was as if the Water Sentinel's body only composed of a hard shell with many layers and inside it was just the concentrated energy for it to use.
With no more limbs to use, Renir's desperation led to him using his sharp teeth to bite off the rough edges of each layer and chew!
He subconsciously relied on his teeth and jaws after it had saved him many times already. His jaws turned into a shiny metal, up to the surface of his skin.
It did not only increased his jaw's durability but also its strength - its biting power. Making it more than a dozen times stronger than his bite even with his power.
So he chomped the rough edges and tried to peel it off!
The Water Sentinel noticed this and began to slow down and tried to take Renir off its face. It shook its head and Renir felt he was being hit against hard walls left and right.
It was solidifying the water that Renir was about to course through.

And eventually, Renir was thrown out of the Water Sentinel's face, all beaten up.
Drifting away like a corpse while leaving a trace of clouded blood coming from his whole body.
But a gray plate could be seen from hanging from his mouth.
His limbs were completely immobilized but he didn't need them anyway.
Renir bit, chewed, and gulped then felt like nails down his throat. But as soon as it reached his stomach, it disappeared into energy.
'I knew it.. ', his eyes became sharp as he looked at the monstrosity that stared at him, 'Its whole being is filled with energy...!'
The slimes had their cores while the Giganslik is the core itself controlling the slimes that it consumed, however, the water creatures didn't have anything like a core as its whole body was energy by itself.
So by that reasoning, the Water Sentinel's shell must also be composed of pure energy!
Renir felt the jolt all over his body as if he was struck by lightning when the plate was absorbed by his stomach.
At that moment, his whole body was healing again. He could do this, he could win against the Water Sentinel!
Renir optimistically thought.
However, Renir's goal was to save Sceke at the time. To win against the Water Sentinel, Renir had to use the battle of attrition but that would take too long...
But Renir didn't worry, he already knew what to do.
When he heard cracks all over his body, his broken bones were already healing.
When he was about to charge by himself, he saw a glow in front of him that made him completely stop.
Renir's face went pale since he was familiar with this glow. Why wouldn't he remember this glow?
This was the glow he last saw before he died the third time!
'It's gonna use its power?', Renir felt dumb because, for a single moment, he thought that he could defeat this beast and forgot that it wasn't going at full power yet.
'It saw me as dangerous again?', Renir realized that by eating its skin in front of it must've been provoked it, 'This one had really an intelligence, isn't it?', he frustratingly thought.
It was always worse than he imagined and was always the worst-case scenario.
Coincidentally, Renir felt the need for air and with all his power, he resurfaced before the Water Sentinel could do anything.
Currently, he was experiencing immense energy to expense at will when he took a bit of the plate that was still held by his hand.
What would happen after he ate the Water Sentinel as a whole?
Renir felt tingly by thinking about it as he inhaled the air.
It was darker than usual so Renir could see the bright glow of the Water Sentinel.
'Is it going to create a tsunami again?'
And when he decided to come down again, suddenly...
He stopped, his mind filled with abrupt chaos, his instincts pushing his body. His insides were getting crazy as his ears twitched vigorously.
This is worst than fear, from time to time again, this happened to him but it always happened when in front of inevitable death!
So Renir wouldn't doubt a single thought and swam away as fast as possible even though he felt the water solidifying again, holding him still.
The energy he had was not enough so he bit another that made him more than hyper-active!
Renir flailed his legs and arms to swim away, not looking back. His speed was the fastest he had been while being held, that is. He could challenge cars in the water at this point if only he was not restricted.
But as he does so, he could feel that destruction behind his back.
His ears tingled and his instinct pushed him sideways so he abruptly did follow and saw a white beam passed by him.
'SHIT!', Renir panicked when he saw this white beam was not dimming but moving to his way.
He looked back and saw the white large beam with a diameter of almost ten meters coming out of the Water Sentinel's mouth.
Erupting from its mouth as if it was a laser cannon filled with energy ready to pulverize anything in its path. The excess energy that looked like white kist was dispersing around the water beam.
As he saw this, Renir thanked his instincts since he knew how crazy the Water Sentinel could wiggle its body, oscillating the beam at a rapid pace.
Renir saw the white beam towards him like a laser beam. He knew he would be pulverized if he stepped into it.
But it was too fast for Renir since he was far away from the Water Sentinel.
Swoosh--!* the water beam passes by him as he luckily dodged but the water beam never stopped chasing him.
So Renir decided to get close to Water Sentinel as much as possible.
It was a good thing he was not that far away and he was able to dodge recklessly with a few burnt marks of his limbs.
He couldn't imagine being burned by cold water, literally.
Renir took another bite to the plate and used the jolt of energy he was experiencing to dodge even by a width of a hair. The compression around him was mysteriously but fortunately loosening!
As he got closer, Renir found it easier to dodge since the water beam's speed was decreasing.
And he realized not it was not just luck that he dodged the beam, the Water Sentinel's accuracy was just bad.
Even if it was such a devastating power that could pulverize anyone with one touch, if it would not hit, it was useless.
So Renir accelerated more and when he saw the water beam was dimming and losing its power, he took this chance and went to the Water Sentinel's wide-opened mouth!
