Machi let the subject drop. She had never seen Leon like this. Getting on the air blimp Leon still didn't talk.
Machi would normally be fine, but the look on his face was new, and Machi didn't like it at all.
Once they were back in Yorknew City, Leon stepped off the blimp, Ymir jumped into his arms from seemingly nowhere. Hissing, Ymir sunk his claws into Leon's chest.
Prying the angry cat off of him, Leon scratched behind his ears until he was subbed, " I guess I deserve that, glad to have you back, buddy. "
Ymir turned his back on Leon but eventually, he hopped back onto his usual spot on Leon's shoulder.
" Hey Machi, let's go have some fun. We can go out just the two of us and try some food stalls and whatnot. "
Machi froze, " Just the two of us, isn't that a little strange. "
Grabbing Machi's hand, Leon pulled her along, " Why would it be weird? It's going to be just like the shopping we did in Meteor City. Except it's for food and fun, not to survive. "
Pulling Machi to the first food stall, he could find Leon bought two of everything giving one to Machi, " Come on, try it. "
Taking a small bite, Machi's eyes lit up, " It's good, isn't it. "
Machi didn't even glare at him. Taking a bite of the grilled squid, Machi's eyes only seemed to grow larger.
Grinning, Leon watched Machi quickly devour her squid, and her eyes seemed hungry for more. Leon could sense financial damage coming his way but it would be worth it. Leon and Machi visited every food stall they could find.
Machi loved every single one by the end of the hour Leon was afraid her eyes might stay like that forever.
Leon was surprised by how much Machi ate, Leon was glad he could see this side of her he didn't know she could have so much fun or fun at all.
By the end of the night, their stomachs were full and they both were laughing openly, " I didn't know you could have this much fun, Machi. You don't have to be a stick in the mud all the time."
Machi pouted and blushed and Leon could help himself from smiling as well, " Thanks for letting me see this side of you...and for giving me space earlier today. But why don't you show this side of yourself to anyone else? "
Machi shrugged, " When I first joined the group I was still recovering from the shock, having my entire family ripped away from you in a few minutes. I shut everyone out and soon enough it became part of my personality. "
" There's something about you, your energy. At first, I thought you were some fool, but now. " Machi fell silent as she moved a little closer to Leon.
Smiling Leon grabbed Machi's hand, " I tend to have that effect on people, and we have a few more hours of sunlight. How about we find some more fun. "
Machi could only blush and nod as Leon pulled her along, the rest of the night Leon and Machi visited any place that looked fun.
In the end, Leon and Machi got separate rooms using their hunter's license to pay and stop any questions about why two twelve-year-olds were on their own without any adult supervision.
When Machi and Leon met up in the morning Machi looked to be back in her normal mood, but Leon thought he noticed a slight blush on her cheeks.
" So what's the plan now. " Machi asked advertising her eyes away from Leon's.
" Well, we're hunters now so let's go complete some hunts. "
" That's a little boring how about we make it a little more interesting. "
" Oh what do you suggest a wager, I'm down. "
" Okay then, the first person who can complete the most hunts in one month gets to eat at any restaurant they want and the other has to pay for the meal and the winner can request one thing of the loser. "
Leon smiled, " Fine, I'll see you in one month, but one question where do we apply for hunts. "
Machi didn't have an answer but on the back of their cards, they had a code they could enter into their phones to gain access to the hunter's website.
Following the instructions, on the screen, Leon was able to find a list of jobs that they could do in their area.
" Oh this guy has a pretty sizeable bounty, well I have my first job meet you back here tonight. "
Machi nodded and they both separated to do their respective hunts, Leon looked down at his phone and looked at the man he was hunting.
" Julias Markov wanted on three counts of sexual assault and kidnapping. " Leon sighed it was the same thing over and over again. " I mean he's not ugly by much so must be a mental issue. "
