It was insane how the students were acting after it became known that a Yule Ball would be held this year, it made me more than happy to know that I already had a date for it. Neville had been going on about finally getting the nerve up to ask Blaise to the Ball which had thrown me for a loop but whatever makes Nev happy.
"Did you ask him?" I asked Neville as I took a seat across from him and beside Cedric who wrapped his arm around my waist and placed a full plate in front of me making me place a kiss on his cheek in thanks.
"Yes I did in fact ask him." Neville answered with a blush as he began to run a hand through his hair making me reach forward and smack his hand away lightly making him pout.
"And? You know I have no patience!" I asked with a pout of my own making Cedric and him laugh at my actions the meanies.
"I said yes of course." Blaise answered for him as he took a seat beside Neville his own arm wrapping around his shoulders.
"Nev is so the uke in that relationship." I muttered under my breath making Cedric chock on his food as he tried not to laugh at the look both Blaise and Neville were sending me.
"What? I'm not lying!" I asked affronted making both boys sigh and send a look of pity at Cedric making him raise an eyebrow.
"You really got the short end of the stick when you found out she was your Soulmate huh?" Blaise joked making me give him the finger while Neville just shook his head.
"I think I am lucky to have her as my Soulmate." Cedric refuted calmly making me beam with pride suck on that Blaise!
"Oh! Cedric you should have seen Sirius's reaction to my dress!" I said with a laugh when I noticed Hermione and Ron walking by making both Neville and Cedric to tense slightly before relaxing.
"Please tell me you took a picture of it." Neville demanded with a smile always loving when someone one ups Sirius the prankster.
"Who do you think your talking to? Of course I did!" I shot back with a wicked smirk as I pulled said picture from my school bag showing it to them.
"This is so priceless!" Cedric laughed out loud as he took in the look Sirius was sporting.
"He looks like he is mourning someone who just died.." Blaise commented with slight confusion even as a smirk began to tug at his lips at our reactions.
"One thing you have to understand is Sirius is a diehard Gryffindor, so any dress that isn't red and gold will have him acting like it's the end of the world." Neville explained making Blaise hum in understanding before locking eyes with Malfoy as he stalked toward the Hufflepuff table with rage.
"WHY ARE YOU SITTING WITH THE PUFFS FOR ZABINI?!" Malfoy shouted gaining the attention of the whole Great Hall making his already red face burn brighter.
"I can sit wherever I wish to Malfoy, just as I can date or befriend whoever I wish. Do remember that you have no hold on me." Blaise warned silver eyes flashing with warning making Draco take a step back in fear.
"I am Draco Malfoy and..!" Draco began only to be cut off as I placed a silencing spell on him even as I let the Black Heiress ring appear on my finger for all to see.
"Watch what you say for you are also a Black by blood through your mother and it is my godfather who is Lord to your House. Do I need to write him a letter to have him speak with your mother concerning your behavior?" I asked with a sickly sweet smile fixed to my lips causing Draco to turn as white as a sheet in fear.
"You wouldn't..." Draco began only to finally take notice of the ring on my finger and in that moment he knew I wouldn't hesitate to ruin not only him but his mother also.
"Sirius as Lord Black can not only annul your mothers marriage but also disinherit her and you while also reclaiming the dowry the Blacks gave to the Malfoy's for your mother." I continued taking relish in his fear for I couldn't stand the cowardly boy.
"Please forgive me for overstepping my boundaries Heiress Black." Draco finally grunted out of clenched teeth before he turned tail and ran knowing he would need to write a letter to his mother of today's events.
"Let's hope that will keep him silent for a while." Blaise offered with a sigh of disappointment knowing Draco could be so much more than what he was.
"His father has ruined him from ever really having a chance." Cedric commented with a shake of his head as he finished the last of his food.
THE YULE BALL~
The night of the Yule Ball approached before I knew it and with the last finishing touches of my makeup did I begin to head down to the Common Room where Cedric awaited me causing my smile to widen.
"You truly look stunning tonight My Lady." Cedric offered warmly as he took my hand in his to place a kiss to my knuckles before letting my rest my hand on his elbow as he lead me from the room and toward the Great Hall.
"You ready to have some fun?" I asked with a smile even as I let my eyes trail over his form and my did he clean up nicely.
"Always." Cedric answered easily with a devilish smile before taking his place beside me with the other two champions and their dates.
That night was spent with friends and the man I loved dancing the night away in Cedric's arms before leaving to take in the starry night sky with Neville and Blaise joining us.
"Things sure do seem to be picking up huh?" Neville joked after we watched the heated talk between Snape and the foreign Headmaster.
"Don't they always seem to do that though?" I shot back with a sigh as I leaned back against Cedric's chest with his arms wrapped firmly around me.
