Bab 64: I Invent Them

Grabbing Ilyan's wrist, Eliza dragged him near the cake. His gaze went to Irene for a moment before he showered Eliza with all his attention. 

As Eliza cut the cake, she simultaneously fed the first two pieces to Mrs. Smith and Ilyan. She called for Irene who bent down for Eliza to be able to feed her.

"Here you go, happy birthday once again, Li!" Irene handed over the gift that she had brought for Eliza. 

The latter beamed with smiles upon receiving the gift. She pl̥āṇṭed a thank you kiss on Irene's cheek and ran up to her friends. Mrs. Smith followed Eliza and the ones who were left behind were Irene and Ilyan. 

Tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, she stepped toward him. "I didn't expect to see you here."

"Neither did I," he said, forwarding the piece of cake that Elixa had stubbornly pushed in his hand to her.
