As I was walking back to the boat, a new person arrived at the scene. "What happened here?", Shanks said in awe as he looked at the tens of thousands of marine corpses. "So you're here already? did Kido get soft or something?" I grabbed Shanks's attention, "No he didn't see Whitebeard on the broadcast so he left, now tell me what happened here". Shanks stopped playing, his eyes turned serious as he questioned me about the fight. "The broadcast stopped a little after you killed Akainu, and the marines started to fall from what I assumed was your conquerors haki, but after that, you killed Kizaru and all of the other marines? I get that they took Ace but that was the higher-up's decision, not the poor marine's you just massacred"
"I know that, but so what? Do you think they care? Do you think they wanted to free Ace? Please tell me what difference does it make? Both me and you can't even count all the times the marines tried to kill us for false accusations, so they can do that but I can't kill them for kidnapping my brother?". "Luffy", Shanks spoke to me, now with a gentle tone, "it's true that you deserve revenge for Ace, but massacring tens of thousands of innocent marines isn't the solution. I know you're mad but you can't deny that what you did here was wrong". "But aren't we pirates? we don't care about right and wrong" I said with a confused expression, "well the same can be said of the marines and world government", Shanks said. "Why do you think pirates began to set sail in the seas? and I'm not talking about the one-piece, piracy was popular well before his era" Shanks asked me, "the answer is because of the marines and world government".
"There isn't a single thing that comes from nothing, everything has a reason to happen. In the case of piracy, the world government and marines failed the people. In most countries, there are countless poor citizens but they don't get the attention they need since the world government only cares about nobles, as a matter of fact, they haven't done anything that benefits the regular citizen in so long even Whitebeard can't remember a case of it happening. That's why there are so many pirates, the government has failed them, so piracy and crime were their only way of survival. I mean just look at what's happening with the celestial dragons, just because their grandfather from seven hundred years ago built the world government they can do whatever they want. The normal system of nobility makes it that even if the noble's grate grandfather saved the kingdom or something, he still has to govern and take care of the citizens in his territory in exchange for his noble status, yet the world government focuses all of their efforts on spoiling a bunch of brats who don't even do something in exchange for their power, they just have it and that's the end of it. can you see how flawed the world government is?".
"I don't agree with Dragon's methods, but you do have to realize that there's a reason that the revolutionary army is so successful", Shanks continued after taking a long breath. "As for the marines, currently they are fine, which is why I got mad at you. If you attacked the world government to save Ace I would have probably helped you, but the marines don't have much corruption thanks to Songoku, Garp, and the three admirals. While the world government sits at the back and spoils the celestial dragons, the marines are out on the filed which results in the marines seeing the horrors of the world first hand and also developing a strong sense of justice, weird as it may be. Isn't that right Garp?".
Suddenly Garp got up from his chair and jumped in front of us, "*sigh* you did make a fair point red-head I'll give you that" Garp said. "Are you sure you can say that?" Shanks asked him, "yea, thanks to Luffy there all knocked out anyway, plus the Den-Den-Mushis are destroyed, and those who are awake know my opinions on the matter", Garp answered. "Anyway, while it is true that the whole system of the world government, especially the celestial dragons, is flawed and rotten to the core, the marines are different. We are out in the field and like read-head said, while we are serving the world government, we have more experience in actual situations and have a thorough understanding of pirates and why they are everywhere. on that side red-head was correct, while Roger did influence a lot of young pirates to set sail, they all were mostly from areas that the world government has failed and trying to hide. They didn't have another option except piracy so they took it in hopes of finding treasure or gaining enough power to get revenge on the government".
Garp finished his speech as I was walking towards the boat where Ace was still witing with an annoyed face. 'damn this went well, Morgans if you didn't make a show from what I gave to you I'll be really disappointed' I thought as I finally set sail with Ace towards the Moby Dick
