In the eastern continent, monsters that have attained intelligence on par with humans are rampant. They are also excellent soulbounds which is why summoner players love to go to the eastern continent for rare monsters. The only problem is that monsters that have attained intelligence are rare with a rate of appearing at one in a thousand.

"We will arrive at Mt. Thunder in about a day if we travel just by walking. I know that you cannot teleport to an area that you have not visited which is why I chose the safest route" Peridot stated.
