The Evergreen guild and Levin Cloud wanted to kill Cristobal, but they cannot move. The magic circle restricted their movement. Adrian could tell that this was sort of a cutscene but the game not controlling them.

A lot of players stated their displeasure of not controlling their body during a cutscene. The developers listened to the player's suggestions and made sure that cutscenes are deleted. The developers did become smarter about it as using the boss monsters being invulnerable or the players being caught in a trap like this.
