Bab 230: You want him dead?

When Maxim reached the operation theatre, two burly men blocked his path. Their eyes were filled with animosity as they glared at him. 

''Where are you going?" They exchanged glances before one of them stepped forward to interrogate him. 

As if his voice was a cue, a trail of men appeared from the other hallways surrounding Maxim and Veronica in an instant. 

Just like Veronica had described, from their appearances and uniforms alone, they seemed to be a team of elite guards. 

As Maxim stepped forward, he was blocked again.

''You can't go in there. Unless you want to die, do not take a step forward,'' the same man spoke up.

Maxim halted in his tracks. He looked at the man, and frowned slightly, a look of genuine confusion flashed by his eyes as he asked, ''You want the patient to live or die?"
