Bab 24: A Noob Party

Editor: Atlas Studios

Queros Heights' Novice Dungeon: Gerov Bandit Camp

Entry Requirements: Level 12 to 18

Entry Admission: 2 to 5 People

Dungeon Points Obtained Upon Completion: 25

As the dungeon with the lowest requirement in the game, the Gerov Bandit Camp Dungeon's purpose was self-evident for players. The monsters in the game did not directly drop equipment. All weapons and equipment had to be forged based on blueprints. However, players could kill ordinary monsters that dropped lower-level blueprints. If they wanted to obtain higher-level Equipment Blueprints, only the elite monsters or boss monsters could drop those in the game.

However, neither the elite monsters nor the boss monsters respawned at a designated time or place. Thus, it would be unrealistic for the players who wanted to occupy that space to wait for the Equipment Blueprints to respawn.

As a result, clearing the dungeon naturally became the first choice for players who wanted to obtain blueprints at the moment.

The Gerov Bandit Camp Dungeon produced Level 10 and higher Weapon Blueprints and Equipment Blueprints for all classes and gave one a certain chance to drop Level 10 and higher Skill Books for various classes. This was definitely a treasure trove for players.

Therefore, one could imagine how popular the Gerov Bandit Camp Dungeon was at this stage…

When he arrived at the entrance of the Queros Heights Dungeon after going online at night, Fatty felt dizzy because of the huge crowd before him.

Players were everywhere!

Casual players, guild players, and clan players had gathered at the dungeon entrance as if it was a market with huge commotion. Since the guild players and clan players had their own parties, they seemed quieter. They stayed in place and quietly waited for the friends they had contacted to arrive. Then, when everyone was present, they immediately entered the dungeon. On the other hand, since casual players didn't have a fixed team, they were looking for teams to join on the spot. Most of the voices there belonged to them.

"We're currently short one player for the bandit dungeon. We're seeking a Death Knight or a Shield Warrior!"

"Pioneer raiders, we're looking for a Thief or a Berserker with an attack power above Level 25. The higher, the better!"

"Prophets? Where are all the Prophets? A Dark Mage will do too!"

"I'm a Level 13 Pyromancer looking for a team to enter the dungeon. I've learned to summon the Flaming Imp. Add me if you're missing one player!"

"I'm trading a Level 12 Warrior Chain Mail Gauntlet Blueprint for Light Armor of equal level or a Level 10 Thief Weapon Blueprint. Only trading, not selling!"

"…"

Many players had come out of the Novice Village. Now was the time when a lot of players wanted equipment, so there was strong demand. Although it was impossible to count how many people were there, Fatty supposed that there would be even more after a while.

The dungeon entrance was located at a forest entrance, where there was a large iconic magical vortex. Anyone with a little common sense would know that this only appeared when it was connected to the dungeon map.

While squeezing through to the entrance, Fatty noticed what the recruiting players were shouting. He then saw a team shouting, "We're short one player. Anyone will do!" He applied to join the party without hesitation.

Ever since he had come out of the Novice Village, Fatty seemed to have been playing alone. He had never thought of finding a team to complete quests or kill monsters because he knew that when his skills were relatively fewer, a Venomancer was not very popular.

This was not to say that the Venomancer Class was not powerful. In fact, the Venomancer was almost all-rounded with crowd damage output, crowd control, and support all in one. However, the power of the Venomancer Class was accumulated with a huge amount of skills. Before they learned many useful skills, their class could not show its advantages.

Therefore, since battling and killing monsters didn't pose any difficulty during the novice stage, Fatty didn't bother finding a party to avoid the embarrassment of being rejected by other players' teams.

However, he was going to clear dungeons now and he couldn't do it alone. The system's admission was also limited, so a team was required regardless of whether he had the ability.

With so many players there, it was very simple to find a team member. Only the parties that had special requirements regarding class or attack power might find it harder to find a suitable member. If there were no requirements, a bunch of applications to join the party would probably appear when the team recruited players.

Fully aware that it was hard for a Venomancer to join a party, Fatty hurriedly applied when he saw that there was no requirement threshold to join the party.

Perhaps, Fatty was faster. The team that was recruiting players actually added him to their party.

Fatty was glad, but before he could feel happy, the party's leader shouted on the party channel, "We'll go in! We have enough players!"

Then, Fatty heard the system prompt. "Your team members have entered the Gerov Bandit Camp Dungeon! Please enter quickly!"

They were that straightforward? Were they really confident, or didn't they know anything?

Fatty was somewhat dumbfounded.

Although he had been in the Holy Order Assembly Camp when he had played the Berserker in the past, he had never cleared dungeons and he didn't know anything about the raiding process in the dungeon of the Dark Council Camp. However, he had played up to around Level 80 back then. Thus, he still knew how to prepare for the dungeon.

Even though this was a novice dungeon, it still posed a certain difficulty. The high return of the dungeon naturally represented a high risk. What a dungeon party regretted the most was not doing thorough research!

After recruiting members into the party, the party leader had to acquire a certain understanding of his team members, know how strong their attack was, how good their defense was, what skills they had learned, how many potions they had brought along, and so on. Only when he was mentally prepared could he create a good command plan.

It was fine if a high-level player led a novice player and neglected the preparation. After all, a high-level player could clear such a low-level dungeon. If one could clear it alone, one wouldn't consider what classes his team members belonged to.

However, everyone's level was still low and they were all around Level 10. If such a party didn't understand its own members, they would simply be committing suicide!

In view of this, Fatty couldn't help but wonder whether he had joined a noob party.

At that moment, a few players in the party, who had perhaps realized that he had yet to enter, shouted impatiently on the party channel. "Venomancer, what are you still doing outside? Hurry up and get inside!"

They were rushing him. Plus, this party had hurriedly entered the dungeon after it had just formed. The dungeon had now started, so there was no way to leave the party. Thus, Fatty could only squeeze through the crowd and enter the magical vortex to the Gerov Bandit Camp Dungeon.

"Maybe they really are sure…" Fatty consoled himself.

The dungeon started in the forest outside Queros Heights. After entering the dungeon, Fatty's character stood on the tree-shaded path that stretched all the way deep into the forest. His other four team members also waited for him there.

Since there had been too many people outside, Fatty hadn't seen what classes his team members belonged to. After he entered the dungeon, he finally got a clear view.

Yes. Just as the party leader had shouted earlier, the team included all sorts of classes. Those four players consisted of an Orc Race Dark Mage holding onto a staff, an Apostle Race Death Knight, an Apostle Race Pyromancer, and an Undead Thief.

By adding Fatty, who was an Apostle Race Venomancer, their team was well-formed.

When he saw Fatty enter, the Dark Mage player holding onto the staff complained. "What are you doing? We waited so long for you. Don't you know that dungeon time is very precious?"

Fatty apologized. "I'm sorry. There were too many players outside, so I had difficulty squeezing in."

"Forget it." The Dark Mage waved his hand and said, "You're here already."

The ID of the Dark Mage player, who was the party leader, was called Smoking Without Fire. As far as the other three players were concerned, the Death Knight player's ID was Bookworm, the Pyromancer player's ID was Playing With Fire, and the Thief player's ID was Crayon Knife.

At first, Fatty had thought that after everyone gathered, entered the dungeon, and quietened, the party leader called Smoking Without Fire would inquire whether his party members had brought potions so that it would be more convenient for him to command them later on.

However, as he had these thoughts, Smoking Without Fire waved his hand in full spirits and said, "We'll set off and start clearing the dungeon!"

F*ck! Fatty was immediately dumbstruck. As he saw Undead Thief Crayon Knife walk past him, he quickly stopped him and asked, "Are the four of you friends?"

"We're not!" Crayon Knife shook his head and answered, "We don't know each other. I was added in because the party leader was recruiting players."

"What about the three of them? They don't know each other either?" Fatty asked.

"They are the same!" Crayon Knife said with a smile. "Don't worry. Nobody will ostracize you. None of us know each other!"

Crayon Knife thought that Fatty was afraid that the party members knew each other and would have an opinion about a Venomancer's output so he consoled him. However, he didn't know that Fatty was not worried about this!

Fatty was gloomy because he had entered the wrong party!

Just as he had expected, this was truly a noob party!
