Bab 99: Origin | 1
After preparing myself mentally, I begin to slowly drift off into a weird state... as if I were asleep and drunk, a wave nausea blew over me not unlike a blast of wind.
Beyond that feeling, I was alone in a similar nowhere space as when Crimson took over my body while supposedly charmed. I do not know what is true or not, my memories can be altered and erased... I cannot define anything, even if I try to take a deeper look.
There I stood, and then before me stood Ruby. I resisted my urge to immediately kill her luckily, but she sat in silence as I stared at her... that droopy beanie kind of hat and her ridiculously over sexualized outfit were more apparent then before, its like I can see her in full definition now despite my nausea.
We stood there, silent for a significant period of time before she finally decided to speak.
" What's the meaning of this, Cobalt? "
I have no clue as to what she might mean, and I have no theory in the slightest either. Perhaps an open forum of confession.
- " I'm lost about that too, supposedly its a test of character or something for me. "
" I don't want much relation to you, its not hard to see the ideals of a man who copies the face of another. "
- " Arguments about me being Crimson isn't the priority of the matter, you see its most likely because you were the one with the most influence on my life... one I am lead to believe since starting this Alternative Account to be absolutely horrible. "
" Yeah yeah, the whole Charm issue... big fucking whoop, You still kill plenty for whatever reason may be... I'm indicted to believe you enjoy killing like the rest of Origin. "
- " That's not actually the issue I believe, back when we first met... I never told you about why I was mourning then, did I? "

- " Fair enough, well... it was my family. They died in transfer, I searched for weeks and mourned for months... you were supposed to be my escape from it, and instead you forced me to kill while feeding me with lies. "
" I apologize for taking advantage of you if it makes you feel better, if you are Crimson that is, but beyond that I never told a lie... I just had to manipulate the truth to have you believe it. "

" Oh yeah? "
- " Yeah... any who, since we are here I want to ask about a bit about my time under your charm... since a large portion of my memories were either stolen, forgotten, replaced... or other such things. "
" I don't remember much either idiot. It's been near 30 years now. "

" Hmm... I think... oh yeah! I remember, that's what Quartz put in you. He said it would make you easier to keep a hold of in the long run... I don't know the exact things he put in you but I'm sure it was personal huh? "
- " Yeah, I remember being told that you had my family hostage and if I didn't do what you said... you would... y'know. "
" That's pretty fucked up, but also pretty funny lol. You knew they were dead though, right? That wouldn't make any sense. Its also pretty funny how hard you try and pretend to be Crimson!"
Ruby shrugged and paced around me, watching her spin made my nausea flare a little bit, but I kept my lunch down.
- " I only figured that out like, a week or two ago i think? I don't know anything about digitalization of the human mind. Besides that, what am I supposed to believe? I don't have much of my memory before digitalization either!"
" I thought I made it clear to you, I don't care. "
- " That's... not helpful in the slightest, you villain. If we want to go back to our lives we need to work our problems out or whatever. "
" I. Don't. Care. Remember, I have an entire guild behind me... and you have only have the centipede and the little fire thing right? What use are those going to be versus an entire guild without their beloved master? "

It hurts to breath in here even through my mask, hopefully the work area in air conditioned... I take an elevator down towards where the test is meant to be held, and whether or not I'll be able to get my family out of this hell hole we call earth.
Earth is about to die, and we need to get off somehow. According to the flyers, these people will try to upload the data of our minds to some sort of, computer? I guess its close. There is a guy named Helios running the program with a few others, and I've heard of him before.
Helios is some sort of smart guy you know? Prodigy since child type, but I've also heard he's kinda crazy. Like, human experiment crazy.
After the elevator opens, I'm greeted by an empty hallway made of metal sheets... leading into a pure white room illuminated by red lights of some sort, most likely a Lab or something.
Walking down the Hallway, my presence is noted by some sort of camera... later a man in a white cloak appears before me in the metal hallway.
" Welcome to my Lab! Your the Infamous Avery Hall, correct? "
- " What if I said no? "
" You'd be shot and be repurposed for food! "
- " Good thing I am Avery then, so I got the note... you need someone to test your machine right? "
" Yes sir! We have already succeeded on doing specific minds, one altered by our serum, but now we are testing on pure humans! "
- " Intriguing, where should I..."
I loosened my pack of supplies, weaponry... and other such items. Breathing in the air around me slowly as I take off my mask, it was sharp and cold... but it was comforting.
" Ah, don't worry about those old things... leave them anywhere in this hall, the guards will pick them up eventually! "
- " Thanks, anywho... do we start right now? "
