Bab 31: To Higher Ground
Im never done when it comes to crafting, I will make everything perfect.
I kinda feel bad for Arch and Melody, considering they didn't get a Divine Item... so Im going to get them a little something else. For Arch a cloak, and for Melody a Robe. If they end up as Divine then I will just leave it like that.

I don't have any fabric though, and neither does Arch or Dice... so I'll hunt for some materials then. I'm thinking Spider Silk, conisdering the natural strength it has, and I believe that their is a species of Spiders that use Mana in their webbing... so that's the goal. Arch and his Pals are eager to test out their new guns, so it's a walk to the dungeon then!
Before that though
I'm going to make the car bigger and better.
I took the " engine " out of the frame, leaving the rest to fall. I dont need to use basic Carapace anymore considering I've got Crystal Carapace and Wyvern Bones.
I began working with some more Flat Bone ™ and pressing them into a large frame for the car. The design will be something more tank like, using the heaviest defences possible and making up for it by overcharging it with Crystals.
Despite using so many of the Large ones, I'm not running out anytime soon. The frame ended up like pretty ok, from the back end it looks like a rectangle with the sides smoothed.. and the front has a large pocket for the Engine, just like a normal car.
I'm first going to use the Crystal Carapace to fill in the frame, leaving the backside open however in order to make a simple door there. Mounts have rarity but not Grade... so the amount of crystals don't matter, and Hopefully I won't get a server wide notification again...
I wonder how the forums are taking this haha.
To fill the frame in with Carapace is a little tricky, I'm not just going to bolt on the Carapace on the frame. Instead....

Built in crafting function. Baby.
This way I don't have to make each individual plate by hand... saving some time at the cost of strength. Actually since it's Carapite it might be stronger, I'll test that later. After the Material finished processing, it's Tan form Turned into a pure black Metal Plate, shining like it was just polished. I began attaching the plates like you would lay bricks, fused the ends to the frame and fused the plates together.
The end product was a Black, Shiny, Tank like structure. Now for my modifications to the engine. I started adding Water and Wind magic to the engine, just for cosmetic purpose. Specifically it would make an emmision of Rain clouds through the Wind Ports, that being where the Wind is shot out to let this thing levitate. I added lots of extra Wind crystals via " Mana Battery ".
The design is like a smaller engine that has connections to the output crystals, speaking of outputs. I've basically been controlling this by a mouse pad... but now I'll make a proper steering wheel.

It's been 2 hours and I finished the steering wheel, Arch came by to see what's popping. He is just sitting their with his legs crossed listening and watching me work. He's very kid like after all huh?
I definitely understand, I try to act eccentric on the outside. Whereas he tries to act Cool and calm on the outside. It's kinda hard to keep a facade on all day, sometimes you just need to act your true colors. Mine is Blue.
With the steering wheel now fully assembled, I began work on a small sliding door on the back. A lot easier than the wheel, im finished almost immediately... just have 2 wind crystals the blow hard in either direction with adaptive amounts of force, and have a crystal that turns it off. Therefore its a door that can't be moved until turned off... Via me. I basically made myself the Key.
How? Well it's very simple. I just remove the crystals with alchemy. I know that isn't a permanent solution and I'm just making it harder for myself, but I don't want to spend another 2 hours on this thing.
I began constructing some seats, having one at the steering wheel while the others will line the sides of the vehicle. I had to leave it at a Carapite bench almost, since I have no fabric.
In order to get some windows on this thing, I had to search for some sand.
I couldn't find any.
So, I took a rock and blew it up until it became sand. Wich I then used alchemy to turn into glass, a nice thick panel for the front and smaller ones for the sides.

I've calmed myself down now... I don't know why I'd need a vehicle this strong, but I guess it's fast. So there is that. At the spider cave there might be a few Large Crystal drops hopefully.
So, I gathered the Gang... and we began filling into the Tank, there's a ladder up to the cock pit now, while the bottom floor is just for transporting people. It seems the interior is leather... but I don't know how that happened. Carapace can't really be made into a leathery material as far as I know, Chitin is rigid right?
The end result is quite spacious too, enough room to fit double our party size. I say party but I'm just chaperoning Arch's party right now.

Arch - " I turned 17 before digitizing, didn't keep track after that. "
Me - " 17? Damn, you look quite old for your age... did you change your Avatar over time? "
Arch - " No I kept it the same, same as my friends. Never ask a women their age though... I found that out the hard way. "
Me - " I didn't, whatever. I meant to ask if you wanted to drive? "
Arch - " If it's like a normal car then yeah. "
Me - " It's got the operation of one. I'm going to check out if theirs some extra features in here. "

I herded our Party into the Vehicle... and as we ported to our destination I put on the " Theme Song " for each of us.
According to the system I have a song called " Devil Trigger " as mine, Wich I think it's less of preference and more of just a joke. Is the system capable of jokes and such?

We arrived I guess. It was pretty far away supposedly but It took only half an hour at most. The speed of this thing is ridiculously high.
Turns out there is an event at the High Spider cave. Just to clear out the spiders for the most part. There's only a few people here. As we exit the vehicle though they quickly turn from few to 19 total. I counted.
They swarmed the vehicle with inquiry and such. That's when they recognized the names... especially mine.
" Hey Cobalt, How much for a Divine weapon! "
" Cobalt! Are you selling Divine weapons right now? "
" Cobalt, can you please teach me! "
Ignoring all of this... we began to enter the spider cavern to the protest of the people there. They seem to be worried because of our level being around 60.
Not including me, the levels are nothing significant. What could the Level of mobs be here now?

The level difference between Arch and Luriel to the Spiders doesn't matter due to their new items. And the rest of us who are lower level will be able to quickly catch up! It's a profiteering scheme!

I sincerely regret this.
I mean my level has been increasing faster than ever, but it's like I'm a kid in a Mine testing facility. I could die in few hits anywhere, luckily I don't really have to fight due to the XP share mechanic.
I'm not going in depth about that for now.
Dice has been, reluctantly, letting Arch and his pals get most of the kills. Instead I'm having her body guard me for the most part... I'm not proud at this but I never pass up an opportunity to have more protection.
Except all the times I could make armor for myself rather than just an Exosuit.
What was I thinking?
I'm going to immediately make myself some amor after I finish the Robes and Cloak. Maybe I'll make myself a cloak too... that might be cool. Maybe even a suit, like the ones they have in action movies!
I can't wait, And I don't have too! For the most part, Spiders are coming to us... so we can sit at the edge of this tunnel and kill them as they approach. So, while they do work I'll be crafting.
The spiders have dropped quite the bit of material that will be useful. Large Crystals number 17 for now. Whereas there is so much Silk and webbing I can fill an entire warehouse of the stuff. Carapace is here too, of course it's a different kind though.
Spider Carapace, Do spiders even have that in real life? Whatever.
Beginning with the silk... it's black in color due to the unique magic that's used with it. The Webs that already have been spun are sticky and white, making excellent decorating materials.
Using the Silk, I don't know how to weave it into actual fabric so I'll use the System Crafting to watch and learn.

I think I get the basics now... but I'm basically just winging it still, so I'll compensate with magic. Specifically Mana Crystals. Threaded ones. I can manipulate the shape and physical properties of them easily, so making silk out of them might not be too hard, like the Mana veins right?

I'm surprised I can do this shit but not sharpen the crystals. Do Devs just not want pure crystal swords? Cowards.
I began constructing the actual armor portion of the cloak, using the spider Carapace converted into a similar plate I used for Horizon's shield... It turned out pretty alright, it's probably fine to just use this as the plate too.
Next I began the fabric around the plate, that way you don't have to see Arch's stomach often. I used a mixture of Mana Thread and Spider Silk... The result ended with a Black shirt that slightly... pulses? It's pretty cool I guess, continuing on I began the actual cloak.
I don't think it isn't unique for an Anime sword fighter to wear a cloak, so I'll have one similar to those types rather than actual sword fighting cloaks so that the System makes it stronger...
Damn developers, making everything so Anime.
In terms of design, it's your typical Fur Neck base with fabric that extends down wards, with it partway resting on the shoulders. I don't have any fur... so I'll use the next best thing. Wyvern Scales.
Creating the cloak was easier than the shirt, it's just a long piece of fabric after all. Instead of making it a perfectly fixed cloak I decided to cut a neat design into it.
I cut two right triangles out of the edge, leaving two " Spikes " in the fabric and a small rectangle that hangs loose. I then made the rectangle separate from the rest of the cloak, specifically it's now three different pieces. I cut the end of the middle piece to resemble an arrow.
Next, I cut small triangles into the edges of the other two pieces, and made damn sure to keep it symmetrical... that took quite the bit of skill to pull off, I think my inexperience shows because of that. Certainly a professional Fabric cutter or whatever would be a MASSIVE improvement. But, I think I'd be good enough to proud of it.
So, I used more of the blue Mana Fabric to create ribbons that start from the shoulders, specifically to increase the complexity of the piece for no reason other. I can imagine Arch running with this flowing behind him like waves that follow... that reminds me! I have some Red dye from him! I'll change the color of the ribbons, and make a nice pattern through the design.
Then, as a finishing touch... I used more wyvern scales to increase the defence towards the shirt by fusing it to the design.
Wait I forgot something!
I began adding Wind Crystal Orbs around the entire design out of sight, such as under the cloak, these will boost Arch's speed!
