Bab 37: Story IV / Part XXXV: The Red Dawn of Crimson Sky (II)
We reached the mine not long from there. I saw the Reserve Team members were digging the ores from the mining site and few of them who recognize me greeted me by bowing down their head. I walked deeper inside until I saw Julio and the others were resting right now. It seems they have piled up ores from mining.
"Everyone, have you done mining? Let's go back!"
"Bah, Boss, we ain't kids. You don't need to pick us up!"
"No, it's not what I mean, Igrei-san. Do you know [Rain of Chaos] that coming closer to our place?"
"WHY ARE YOU NOT TELLING ME SOONER?!"
Igrei ran back to mining area and brought back a big sack of ore. Arnold and Toval who walked behind him also brought two big sack of ore with them. I asked them to return first but Julio chose to stay with me instead.
"If Kaichou wants to mine for a bit, I'll also wait for you. To be honest, I'm too tired to walk right now."
"Hm? Don't ye feel scared by that shitty rain that is coming closer to us?"
"Of course I am scared. But I owe Kaichou many things, so I don't want to leave him behind. Don't you understand, brown pebble?"
"So, you also can talk manly! Horse saddle!" Then, both of them are laughing together.
"Oh, Arnold, are you leaving?" Hel asked Arnold who still packing his tools.
"No, Hel. I'll wait for Leader and Robert."
All of them sit and drink together for a while, but not for Igrei who returned to mining site again. He said that he needed more ore to forge my daggers. I'm mining for Agate and Opel with Robert in the deeper site of mine. Luckily, after one heverra mining, each of us found ten Agate and Opal ores. But before we go back, Robert asked my permission to find Emerald and Fire Agate for him. I nodded and he walked to deepest site of mine.
"Hey, Toval…you always say "Leader" and "Kaichou" when calling Leader inconsistently. It's confusing for me you know." Said Arnold while he chewing his bubble gum.
"Honestly, I'm also confuse with that. Leader is a noble, with Yamatonese name, I call him "Kaichou" but he isn't a Yamatonese. So, I decided to call him "Kaichou" for informal talk and "Leader" in mission or formal event…Hmm…Luna and Yuna-chan also calling him "Kaichou" rather than "Leader"."
"It's because both of them are Yamatonese but you aren't Yamatonese either, so stop calling Leader with "Kaichou". It's confuse me." After heard that, Toval rubbed his neck. It seems he confused right now.
I returned to entrance with Robert, but on there I saw confused Toval with Arnold that chuckling near him. I asked Arnold what's happened here but he shook his head. Not long after that, Igrei came back with huge sack of ore. He said that he went deeper and he found [Vulvastel Aurutica] (Vulcan Agate) mining site on there.
"You found Vulcan Agate mining site there?!" said Toval surprised.
"Yep, lucky for me. This ore is worth for 34 Oricalchum if I sell them raw in Human Kingdoms. But if I sell this on auction, maybe I can get over than 51 Oricalchum for one piece of them."
"Did you mine all of them?"
"No, Boss. There are still plenty of them inside. I had gathered enough for myself and for our party, so I leave them for Guild Reserve Team. I think they deserve it because they have been mining from morning until now."
Toval greatly disappointed with Igrei's statement, but I agree with him. After that, we returned to our base and began our smithing work. The Dwarves are repairing and enhancing our gears and The Mages are imbuing our gears with magic. We worked for a daesh and at night, The Scouts back with the animals that they had hunted.
Metaren, Jetavien, 12th 2.481 A.E.V II
On the second day before departure, we focused on making magic scrolls, runes and potions. Of course, Khazim, Yuna and their teams were still working on their task. I chose Erick, Yavia, Mikazuchi and Zikiya to lead this work. I asked Julio, Ridell, Arnold and Toval to assist me creating spare shields and projectile weapons.
We need to melt the iron ores and shape it into shields and weapons we want. After that, we must polish it manually with polishing tool and sandpaper. I leave that work for Knights and I chose to polish dagger and sword instead. After four heverra working, we decided to take a small break, except Julio and Hel who still keep making javelin, harpoon and pike. They even created two Halberds already.
"Oh, are you creating spears? Sounds fun, but I'm afraid we must take a break right now."
"I'll follow you later, My Lord. I need to finish this quickly."
"Alright, but do not overwork yourself." I swept my sweats with towel and left them to kitchen.
I walk on the corridor and I heard a big explosion sound. I quickly ran on the source and I found a room with sign "ERNKLING: DEYRE NON VARAN DE CADT!" (Warning: Do Not Open The Door!).
(Oh, I think I knew who made this room…)
Not long after that, Andrew and Yovan came from the opposite way. They greeted me and said this room created by Erick and Tim after I asked them. They said Erick wanted a room that can withstand [EX Rank] explosion magic, so they decided to make this room by themselves. Andrew said now Erick and Tim were creating dangerous potions and runes inside the lab.
Meanwhile, on the opposite of this room, there is a lab with similar sign in front of its door. Shortly after that, a black smoke flowed out and Luna came out from there.
"Cough, cough…why you put that strange green liquid into that bottle?! Cough, cough!"
"…I thought it's a green slime's liquid! How can I know that it turned out to be Treant Sap?!"
"Luna, Rika, what are you two doing?"
"Eh?!" They surprised and looked at me. Then, all of us are standing silently while looking each other.
"RUN!" Both of them suddenly turned their back at me and tried to run.
"Where do you think you are going?" I quickly grabbed their shoulder.
"KYAAA—! KAICHOU, GOMENASAI!" said Rika panicked.
After that, they explained to me that they have been creating potions with slippery and adhesive effect. But Rika messed up and the chemical reaction occurred, followed by small explosion. The lab itself is fine, but…it's really dirty and smelly. I asked both of them to clean the lab before Yuna uses it. Luna says something before I leave.
"Kaichou, do you know Erick have been creating magic scrolls that capable to wipe out entire army and destroying gigantic fortress inside that lab?" Said Luna with serious expression and Rika nodded in agreement.
…Upon hearing that, I was silent for a bit until Luna shook my body gently and called my name.
"ANDREW, YOVAN, BRING ME A GREAT HAMMER RIGHT NOW!"
"YES SIR!" They ran back and forth and they brought me a great hammer from out of nowhere.
"Here you go! But what will you do with this great hammer Leader?" Yovan asked me while sipping his drink.
I swung that great hammer to the door and it destroyed the door after I slammed it. Inside, I saw Erick and Tim who were drooling in front of suspicious-looking magic scrolls. Of course, their eyes were also shining over that.
But when they saw me with a great hammer, they panicked and tried to hide the scroll but they failed. I smacked their head and scolded them for one heverra nonstop. I returned back to blacksmith room after Igrei called me.
Long after that, Rika ran to me and said that both of them had recreated the door. She said now the door had recreated with exclusive defense mechanisms and imbued with strong protection magic. After hearing that, I can't help but covering my face with my hand.
"Just forget it, Boss. They wouldn't back down if it's related with prank, destruction and explosion."
"Do you still remember what happened when we visited your home, Igrei-san?"
Igrei begins to think something and he remembered when we visited his house outside of Medfor Dwarven Kingdom, Erick and Tim created a huge explosion by accidentally dropped one piece [Lighetei Freider] or [Red Blast Stone] inside Red Blast Tone's warehouse. It happened because both of them fooling around by nudging each other while carrying boxes full of Red Blast Stone. Igrei's house also destroyed because of them.
"Oh right, both of them are bad civilization…"
We decided to leave them alone because we don't have any time for their antics. We continued our work until 10 P.M.E and we were scolded by the girls who had prepared the dinner for us. Especially, Ayumi who glared at me with murderous intent because I left the food that she had cooked until cold (again).
After dinner, I wanted to go back to work, but Ayumi glared at me again. I can't help but choose to quick nap for four heverra and awoke at 2 A.M.E. I walked to blacksmith area quietly but when I reached there, someone grabbed my shoulder.
"GGYAAA—!!! I'LL GO BACK SLEEP!!! I'LL GO BACK SLEEP!!! PLEASE DO NOT STAB ME WITH THAT KNIFE AYUMI-SAN!" I panicked and began to punch anything in front of me.
"Ow! Ow! Ugh! Your Highness! Your Highness! Please calm down! It's me Del!"
"Ah, eh?! Del-san?! Sorry! Sorry! I didn't know it was you!"
"Please don't worry about me, Your Highness."
I'm relieved after knowing it was really Del who grabbed my shoulder after all. Del is an Imp that joined my party after winning a small tournament that my party holds in Vanaheim World, inside Yggdrasil Tree as a recruitment process. At first, he was laughed off by other participants because of his small stature and size, moreover he is a [Necromancer] that is considered as a weak class because [Necromancer] are known to be extremely weak at close combat they are known as a pure support class who usually summon low-level undeads.
Del however, shows them how wrong their view is by summoning several high-ranking Undeads at once, including Elder Lich and Skeletal Dragon. He also deliberately fought his opponent using martial arts instead of his summoned undead. His martial skills were good enough to beat other participants and bring him to the grand finale, where he must fight against Alexis, who is a top-ranked [Summoner] at that time.
Del won because through a clever ruse. He attacked Alexis silently out of his sight exactly at the moment when Alexis is not paying attention at his back. Since that time, he was the first Necromancer from Imp Fairy Race that successfully joined [White Falcon] by his hard works alone.
I welcomed both Alexis and Del with open arms and they quickly adapted with our party. I helped Del adapted in party and help him choosing his skills. From that time, this (freak) Imp worshipped me as his "Savior" and "King". At first, he called me "Your Supremacy" and "Your Holiness" but because I'm not a "Great Judge" or "Prophet" I asked him to change how he calling me. Now, he has been calling me "Your Highness" instead, which is annoying for me.
On every time when our party going to adventure together, he and his squad often disappeared and returned with high-ranking or ultra-rare materials. He is also often appears and disappears in our basecamp. From that moment, I have been wondering whether he is Doppelganger, Ghost, Phantom or just a normal Imp.
"Your Highness, I found these materials. I wonder if these things will be useful for your weapon creation."
Del is showing me items he collected on his inventory. There are fifty [Unlucky Bones], forty [Cursed Bones], thirty [Sinner's Chains], ten [Cursed Skull], four [Manticore's Tail], four [Manticore Skin], eight [Manticore's Eyes], sixteen bottles of [Black Scorpion's Venom], forty {Manticore's Claws], twenty [Ghoul's Blood], twenty-four [Claw of Chaos] and eight [Manticore Fang].
"Where the hell did you get these cursed materials, Del-san?"
"Oh, they have been roaming on the forest. You know our base have surrounded by them and we have been hunting them down. Right, now we decided to rest to recover few our spells, mana and stamina param—"
"WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME SOONER?!"
"Hiiiii—! Your Highness! Please, forgive me! I wanted to wake you up, but I saw you sleeping soundly from afar. Moreover, Lady Ayumi had been wandering around your room, so I can't wake you up!"
"So, what are you doing outside?"
"We just hunted down the beasts and undeads that walked to our base! I swear we didn't doing anything except collecting dropped materials and EXP from—"
"DID SOMEONE SAY EXP?!"
Luna quickly ran out from the lab and came to us. She is drooling in front of me and her eyes are gleaming. She is still wearing her tank top and her face is still half-asleep, with messy hair.
"What the hell are you doing, Luna-chan, get back to your dream!"
"I REFUSE! I WANT THAT EXP RIGHT NOW! WHERE ARE THEY?! TELL ME!!"
Luna shook Del's body and forced him to tell her. After he told her, Luna quickly ran outside while screaming like crazy. Thanks to that ruckus, everyone woke up. I walked to the main hall with Del and they asked me why Luna is running outside and screaming like a madman. After I told them the details, their eyes are burning in passion at the slight mention of EXP, and I know what it will lead to …
"ALRIGHT BOYS LET'S GO FARMING EXP TILL DAWN YEE!" Khazim gave them encouraging speech.
"YEAAHH!!!"
As I thought, all of them quickly ran back and equipped their gears. After that, they left the base without asking my permission first. Only few of them who still have sanity are standing up frozen near me. They are trying to digest what happened before but when they realized it, it was too late.
Fortunately, Del told me Robert and Jack had been hunting outside before Khazim and the others awaken. Therefore, I leave the commanding duty to them and head back to Smithing Room. Beforehand, I told everyone who still on the base to not sleep again and focus on guarding our base and monitoring the situation.
"Ishizaki-sama, are you sure to let them running wild like that? This is still dead morning…"
I rub my neck, "Honestly, I don't want to let them hunting at this heverra, Zikiya-san. However, they can't be told to sit idle and wait. So, let them be."
"I feel pity for the monsters…" Then Yavia closed her hands together and began to pray.
(What the heck are you saying Yavia-san?! Are your faith to Earth Mother is that heavy?!)
The commotion that those meatheads cause is so loud that I can't sleep again, thanks to them who chatted loudly over party's voice chat and combined with those explosion sounds, they manage to woke up other members who just went to sleep two heverra ago.
Well, I just asked the girls who just woke up to take a bath and prepare the breakfast. Then, I walk to the cave's entrance with Del to see what is happening outside and as Del said, there are many demonic beasts such as Manticore and Chimera that wandering inside the forest.
Normally, those beasts live inside high-ranked dungeons or ruins, where demonic mana is overflowing. I still remember my first encounter with Manticore on the scorched battlefield near [The Land of Four Demon Gods] when I was carrying out special mission from the guild.
As the old tales described, the Manticore that I subjugated was really hard to kill. It kept avoiding my attacks and spells as if they were nothing that I needed to squeeze all of my brain cells to think how to kill it quickly and effectively. But after I returned to the kingdom, Guild Master told me that I need to disable the scorpion tail first in order to defeat it quickly.
I was lost in thought until Igrei shouted at me, calling me to assist him in smithing work that has been delayed since last night. I nodded and left the cave's entrance while asking Del to watch over the battle in my stead.
