Bab 77: EPISODE 77: Thunder Strike!
Route twenty or the longest and most vast route in the region, can be found at the Silvent Desert! A desert filled with numerous mysteries and legends. This desert baffles scientists and professors due to its intense hot temperature and due to the fact that there is a lake at the center of the desert. Yes, there is really a lake, Lake Knowledge! It is one of the trio lakes of this region, Lake Wisdom! Lake Knowledge! Lake Understanding!
There are rumors which circles the three vast lakes about the legendary or mythical Pokemons which surrounds and guards the lake aside from the so-called Lake Guardians. So why not go to Lake Knowledge? We're in the desert after all!
"Hmm... It seems to me that the lake is four miles away from us." Camellia uttered slowly while observing her town map.
"Four miles!? That's a long way..." I uttered with shock and boredom.
It's been days now since we first entered the desert. My body is already aching because of the heat from the dreading sun! Sweat fell of my face slowly by slowly as my throat pleads for water.
"I told you to conserve water didn't I?" Camellia recalled and charmed as she winked her left eye.
"That's it! I can't handle this heat, I need water!" Glade uttered with frustration.
"Hmm... I know!" Camellia beamed with excitement.
"You got any ideas or what?" Zhery uttered with a hoarse and thirsty throat.
"Glade has a Squirtle doesn't he?" Camellia recalled.
"What!? I don't want to drink Squirtle's water!" Glade complained.
"Yeah, isn't Squirtle's water used for battling and not drinking?" I reassured with a hoarse and thirsty throat.
"Not if we filter it! If we filter Squirtle's water then we would have fresh water! It's scientifically proven you know?" Camellia boasted with her professor attitudes.
"Filter? What's a filter?" I queried with confusion.
"What!? You don't know what a filter is!?" Glade wondered in shock.
"Look! I'm not a smart kid, even if my parents are very smart professors!" I teased and laughed towards myself.
"A filter is a process of cleaning a liquid or any other substance by removing the residues or dirt found in the substance. This can be done with the use of different devices or natural processes!" Zhery explained.
"I don't know what you just said but filter sure is good!" I smiled sarcastically while my friends facepalmed themselves.
"Alright then! Squirtle come on out!" Glade sent out his Squirtle.
<Squirtle Squirt!> The Pokemon smiles with determination and joy.
"Now, first things first and that's to put sand in this bottle!" Camellia uttered while digging up some sand.
"Sand!? Isn't sand dirty?" I queried with confusion.
"Sand is dirty, but it can help us filter Squirtle's water!" Zhery explained.
"Isn't dirty plus dirty equals more dirty?" I wondered sarcastically.
"Just watch and learn from the future professor!" Camellia boasted and smiled.
Camellia filled half of the bottle with grains of sand. Then, with the help of Squirtle's water gun, the other half of the bottle was filled with water. I watched the process as the water gets absorbed by the sand. The water traveled through the sand very slowly.
On the bottom of the bottle were tiny holes wherein the water will flow through. It was a long and boring process but hey? At least it's worth the wait!
"Come on water... flow faster!" I begged while watching the waterfall down to another bottle.
"Have patience Kalem...." Camellia smiled while slowly watching the water drip little by little.
"This is making me sleepy..." Glade complained.
While watching the water flow, our Pokemons had their own business. They would play together or sometimes even battle against each other!
"Heh! Heh!" Riolu glared at Luxio's eyes as they circled one another. They were having their training while we were waiting for the water to drip.
Both Riolu and Luxio were watching out for each other's move. Who would attack first? The other Pokemons however, watched their battle and cheered for them!
"Who are you going to cheer for Petilil?" Bunneary queried with her cute little accent.
"I'm going to cheer for Riolu no doubt! Go Riolu! Go! Go! Go!" Petilil answered and cheered for Riolu.
"Then I'm going to cheer for Luxio! After all, we're on the same side anyway." Bunneary explained and cheered.
"Heh heh? What do you say Riolu? Let's give them a good show!" Luxio smiled.
"You bet! I'm not going easy on you." Riolu boasted and warned with his big determined smile.
"Are you two going to circle each other for the whole day or are you going to start battling?" Treecko complained while sitting on a small rock.
"Ok fine! We'll start..." Luxio uttered with determination.

"Luxio is the best! Luxio is the best!" Bunneary chanted.

*Riolu tries to stand! Oh wait? Riolu's body is glowing with sparkling electricity!? Riolu is paralyzed!*
"Oh no... Riolu! Don't let Luxio defeat you." Petilil cheered.
*Riolu forces himself up!*

"Riolu's going to lose if he doesn't stand! That's it, I have to do something." Treeko uttered with arrogance.
*Riolu tried to use quick attack but failed!*
*Luxio was about to use volt tackle when all of a sudden!*
"Hey Luxio! Battle me instead." Treecko walks slowly towards Luxio with his arrogant and determined smile.
"Alright then! Challenge accepted little green!" Luxio teased.
Petilil went close to Riolu looking worried and used aromatherapy on him. Aromatherapy is a move that can heal status conditions of Pokemon.
"Are you ok Riolu?" Petilil queried.
"Yeah... Thanks, Petilil. I tried my best." Riolu uttered solemnly.
"Then let's go cheer for Treecko instead!" Petilil smiled and suggested.
"You're right! Let's go cheer him on!" Riolu smiled and sat down to watch their battle.

"Aw! Treecko is that fast!?" Riolu wondered in shock.

*Luxio starts to get angry as its ability Rivalry activates! Since Treecko and Luxio have the same gender, Luxio's attack increases!*
"Treecko's battling skills are better than Kalem's!" Riolu uttered and watched with awe.
*Luxio tried to remove the sand from his face but failed! Luxio started to become frustrated and used random attacks everywhere! Thunderbolts and Thunder shocks strike the battleground!*
"What the!?" Glade got shocked as he saw the thundershock dazzling everywhere.
"I'll be back, something must've happened!" Glade panicked and went to the site where Luxio and Treecko were battling.
"Wait Glade! I don't want to be bored by myself!" I begged.
"Guess you have to watch with us." Zhery teased.

Luxio's was frustrated more than his own limits! Luxio's eyes turned red and tried to shake off the sand but failed miserably. Luxio raged across the field but Treecko kept dodging it.
Luxio started to glow as a black mane grew out of Luxio's body! Its tail developed a larger electric symbol and its eyes were fierce! Luxio evolved into Luxray!
[Luxray! The Gleam Eyes Pokemon! An Electric Type! Luxray's eyes are handy for seeing through objects when dangers or problems arise!]

"You're dead now!" Luxray shouted while showing off his electric power.
"Let's see about that Luxray!" Treecko smiled with determination.

"Luxio!?" Glade rushed and saw Luxio was looking different.
"Lu... Luxio evolved into Luxray! Amazing!" Glade observed the battle as he was in awe with his newly evolved Pokemon!

The battle turned out to be a draw! All the Pokemons clapped their furry paws, claws, feet, hands, or whatever they use to clap. Petilil used synthesis on Treecko and felt better.
"Amazing Luxio... I mean Luxray!" Glade rushed toward Luxray and hugged his face. Luxray smiled back at Glade and licked his face.
"Glade! The water is ready! We can drink now!" I called from a far distance.
"Alright! I'm coming! Come on everyone, it's time to drink water!" Glade called.
Everybody went back to the camp and were able to drink water! The water clenched our thirst while Luxray showed off its thunder strikes! Luxray became even more bulky and strong! I want to battle it with my Pokemons, but hey? That's a chapter for another time!
As the journey continues!
