It took a little over two minutes for the queen bee to disappear, and those were a very uncomfortable two minutes for me.
I got up soon after the queen bee dissolved to see what she had dropped, and saw a single bag.
'At least all of this was worth it in the end.'
I walked over to the bag and noticed that the stone wall the queen had impacted was now left with a gaping hole.
'I thought only a pickaxe or explosive could destroy the surroundings...'
{Well that wall is something unnatural, so they were not part of the rules.}
'Oh.'
I looked back at the wall that was slowly falling apart.
I then yawned, reminding me of my extreme exhaustion.
I looked around the area and saw no enemies in the vicinity.
'Might as well take a short nap.'
I walked over to one of the dryer patches of moss in the tunnel and sat down while leaning against the wall.
I knew that the jungle wasn't safe, so I decided to use my other summon: the brittle star.
I summoned the small brown starfish and simply ordered it to kill anything that comes near me.
And soon after I was asleep.
-Somewhere undefined-
"That was... anticlimactic." The third God spoke, visibly disappointed.
The first God looked towards the third and simply said their opinion on their feelings.
"Well sometimes sacrifice is needed to get something in return. He simply sacrificed his fight and ended up finding something new."
The second and fourth nodded at the words of the first, clearly agreeing with them.
The third seemed to get over their disappointment and proposed a new plan.
"So who wants to bet on his reaction when he sees what he found?"
The four Gods grinned in unison, clearly liking the idea.
The first God decided to ask a question before the betting started.
"What are we going to bet?"
The third grinned even wider and looked at the first and answered.
"I say we all bet..."
-Back to Talon-
I woke up feeling refreshed and energized, the tiredness of earlier long gone.
And now it was time for me to explore what I had found.
I turned towards the stone wall, or what used to be one, and began walking towards it.
I then remembered something I had forgotten.
I turned towards where my brittle star was and told them a few words.
"Thank you for protecting me."
And it was dismissed soon after.
I continued my trek towards the wall, and what I saw when I stepped past it was not something I would ever expect to see.
It was a temple made of dark brown bricks, and it was somehow less mossy than the rest of the jungle.
'Holy shit. That thing must be at least 20 stories tall.'
I walked up to the temple and observed the designs carved into the bricks.
'Lizard people?'
{More or less.}
'I'm not going to question it, since questioning it will only get me more questions.'
I walked around the base of the temple, looking at the murals carved onto the small bricks.
'This place is super detailed. The creation of this must've taken decades.'
{Wrong. It took them centuries.}
'Wow.'
I finally stopped observing the base of the temple and decided to head up to the top, where I assumed the entrance was.
As I walked up, I saw that every brick in this building had been carved into a piece of this massive mural.
I continued to walk, and I soon found an entrance into the temple.
I walked into the short hallway, observing the carvings on the walls.
"A giant plant? A golem? A solar eclipse? The hell is all this?"
I was confused by the murals depicted on the walls and decided to look closer.
I looked at the plant first and saw that it was also depicting a key being contained inside of it.
I then moved onto the golem and saw that it was showing the lizards placing some sort of cell in an altar.
Finally, I looked at the solar eclipse and saw that it was connected to a smaller mural. The smaller mural depicted the lizards holding up some sort of tablet to the sun.
"These are some really detailed murals... I wonder what they are trying to convey?"
{This is something you will understand with time.}
I looked down towards the end of the short hallway and noticed a door made out of the same brick as everything else in the temple.
I walked towards it and tried opening it, only for it to stay completely still.
I looked closer at the door and noticed that it had a key-shaped indent on it, in the same shape as the one depicted on the mural of the plant.
"Oh so the murals are hints on what I need to get into the temple..."
I looked at the door for a moment before I turned around.
I was unable to walk away from the door for a moment since I was stopped by a frenzied scratching sound coming from the other side of it, accompanied by some muffled hissing.
I decided that now was the best time to get out of there, as I knew that I had done all I could for the moment.
I quickly left the room containing the massive temple, and quickly entered a room I was sure to be safe.
As I entered the room, though, I saw an unfamiliar sight.
It was a man wearing a mask made of some sort of bone that was decorated with a variety of colored feathers. He was also holding a staff in his hand.
I paused when I saw the figure and was not expecting what happened next.
"Hello there, I am the witch doctor." They said.
"Witch doctor?"
"Which doctor am I? The Witch Doctor am I." They responded, obviously mishearing me.
I sighed, as I knew that I had just found another eccentric.
Well I literally just stole a line from the actual game to make a pun.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy today's chapter!
