"Oh God." Ashlyn took a deep breath and put on her mask. She could feel her full power, it was such a relief that she had now full control over them.
'I should be able to remove the potion now right? But I should consult Alvin first. He knows more about this stuff then I do.' She sighed and headed back to the hotel.
Now what she wanted to do is rest. It felt unrealistic to believe it went so easily. She thought Mr.Brown would at least try to convince her not to break the bond.
After all, there are people from the academy who will want his head now. If her family weren't influential enough to protect him he would have been gone a while ago.
She felt guilty for doing it because she had promised her mother. Now that she thought about it her mother is truly stupid. To marry a man like that? Her father's acting skills must be at a level of expertise because he managed to fool her mother so easily!
Her mother is a woman who believes in love so she was easily swoon over her father. Even if Ashlyn hoped her mother had been smarter about her decision, what could she even do about it now?
'I miss her.' She thought closing the door behind her.
She decided to shower and get ready for the afternoon short interview she would have.
Once she was done she took out her phone and made a call to Conner.
"Hi!" She greeted him. Didn't he see he wanted to know what she's up to? So why is he so shocked?
"You called me?" He asked, feeling surprised. "Yes, I will go to an interview right now." She told him.
"Yes, how was the meeting with your father. My men informed me that you talked." He wanted to know whether her father is up to something else.
He had been feeling bothered lately. He had no idea about the way Ashlyn had been treated by her father. He didn't think she was under any harm. He had also been feeling guilty for what happened on their wedding night.
He wanted to make up for it but he had to be patient or else she would push him away. He badly wanted to save their marriage....
"Oh yes, he wants me to divorce you." Ashlyn informed him playfully to see how he would react.
"...." Conner was quiet on the other side. "You didn't agree right?" He asked his low voice and was unsure. For a moment his heart stopped. Divorce? That word had not crossed his mind in a while. Although he wasn't sure what he was feeling or why, one thing was for sure: he doesn't want to divorce her.
Ashlyn frowned. 'He sounds like he doesn't want that to happen….'
"No. I didn't, I just left." She responded. Conner was relieved and he changed the topic to the interview she would go to.
After explaining to him what it was all about they ended the call and she got ready to meet up With Li Zi Because only the two of them would go.
The interview would be held in a private area of the hotel and it was between her and a famous interviewer.
The interviewer is popular for meeting up with big stars and having the most realistic conversations with them.
That is why Ashlyn chose him. The public would surely believe everything he presents because of his reputation of only interviewing stars that are willing to be clean with their answers. He also avoids drama and is the most professional one out there.
Usually interviewers don't really care about what is being said or promoted but they are more interested in getting their views, even if it includes putting the star in the dark and creating bad publicity for them.
They would also be forcefull and interviews would sometimes be super awkward.
Ashlyn wanted to avoid such scenarios as much as possible because it would not be good for her. Especially since right now she is just starting out and trying to get everything settled firmly.
She must have a firm base and fans that she can rely on when something happens. Sissie will define the interruption of her piece so Ashlyn must be prepared to face any of her schemes. Her hope was that Sissie played it clean but at this point she started doubting it.
Although Sissie never played a part in framing her she was more of a bully. She liked to put Ashlyn down so that she could feel more confident in herself.
Ashlyn could remember when Sissie first appeared. She was quiet and timid. She was afraid to be treated less than her. When Sissie noticed that it was the opposite she started taking advantage of that thus, her unhealthy amount of arrogance.
"You are looking really good. I doubt they will need to touch up anything! Also, I received the recording of your audition a few minutes ago and I just want to say I'm super proud of you!" Li Zi hugged her tightly, crying with happiness.
"I almost feel like I don't deserve you but I am the best manager out there so I guess we make a perfect match. How about we run off and get married since we match so perfectly? I feel like we are soulmates now." Li Zi playfully caressed her cheek in an intimate position.
'Cameron definitely taught her that.' Ashlyn could already tell.
"There's a camera behind you." Ashlyn told her, startled Li Zi pushed her away and coughed in embarrassment by her behavior.
"Haha, I'm glad your relationship is so close! I'm definitely adding this to the interview." A man from behind them gave them a hearty laugh pleased with the friendliness between Li Zi and Ashlyn.
He was glad to see he wouldn't have to deal with some arrogant and snobbish artists. When he saw those artists he always felt the need to humble. No wonder he's known for making the most open and bold and honest interviews in the whole entertainment industry!
"Ah no…." Li Zi's cheeks flushed, she was ashamed of her behavior but she was just too hyped up because of the audition Ashlyn had.
She was already 100% sure Ashlyn was made for that role no…. Ashlyn was made to act! She's extremely talented.
