"Hmm?" Voldemort stared at him. It would be a lie if he wasn't getting irritated. Although he loves torturing, he cannot waste too much time on these two brats no matter how much of their identity is important.
He only cares about power and in his eyes, only Dumbledore can challenge him, although he wouldn't admit it outright and just belittle the headmaster.
Neal then said loudly, "Aren't you a bit shameless for trying to battle one-on-one with a fourth-year student? Do you dare to battle alone against Harry and me? If you claim yourself to be the greatest wizard, you must be able to do that atleast. Of course, an imposter wouldn't dare to go against two wizards."
"Dammit, Neal. What are you being reckless, now?" Lucius muttered under his breath, "Leave Potter and escape."
After Neal challenged Voldemort and waited for his reply, one of the death eaters interrupted, "My lord, I believe Slytherin wanted to make a fool out of us and escape by the portkey. The Triwizard Cup will be able to teleport them back to Hogwarts."
"And do you think I forgot about that, Corban?" Voldemort was calm this time as he believed Corban was a loyal follower who helped Wormtail and him.
He aimed the wand towards a certain direction without even looking, "Bombara maxima"
A jet of fire escaped the wand and caused a huge explosion at a distance. The Triwizard Cup was destroyed to ash, making Harry lose all the hope on his face. Since the escape route is destroyed, he felt like his death was near. In his heart, he cursed Neal for letting them remind the cup.
Neal furrowed his brows and glanced at the right arm that was holding the Basilisk wand. On his arm, there was a bracelet with S graved on it. Thankfully, the sleeves are covering its presence.
But, couldn't Voldemort sense its presence? A thought appeared in his head and he became a little bit nervous. Perhaps, the death eaters spotted that and misunderstood that Neal is afraid. A few of them laughed while one of them praised, "My lord, you are indeed the greatest wizard of all times."
Voldemort didn't pay any heed to such false praises and stared at Neal coldly. He can forgive him once for running his mouth but when Neal continued to indirectly insult him again, he decided to torture him so much and break his spirit completely. He would now like to hear some begging from this brat.
At the same time, he also knew that he should show his prowess to keep these death eaters under control. If one can defect once, they can defect again. To make sure his grip on his core followers is very tight, he needed to show his cruelty and overpowering strength.
"I thought that you were a kid with potential. When groomed, you would have made a fine death eater," Voldemort replied to him. Anger is evident on his face. "But, you are too impudent to receive forgiveness."
He raised his wand and aimed at Harry. A gray light escaped the tip of the wand.
Harry felt something invisible hit him and he floated in the air. As he was flapping his hands and legs, Voldemort sliced the air with the wand. Harry flew towards Neal and crashed on the ground, exactly a few feet away from him.
"Wormtail, hand over the wand to Potter," Voldemort ordered Peter Pettigrew, to which the latter just threw it at Harry. It fell a few meters away.
"Pick it up…" Voldemort spoke in a loud whisper. Harry coughed twice and struggled to stand up.
"Harry, stand behind me." Neal then said to him.
"What's the use? We are dead, anyway." Harry spoke weakly. He lost willpower.
Neal made a serious expression and grabbed him before pulling back. Harry, who was already feeling weak, fell to the ground once again.
Neal no longer concentrated on him and pointed the Basilisk wand at Voldemort. "Now that you have done this much, you might as well give me the first strike."
"Go on, I'll allow you to be cheekier." Voldemort let out a peal of evil laughter. In his mind, he's already preparing the scenario where he will torture Neal with all kinds of spells, completely breaking his mind and letting him become a great example to his servants as well as for the rest of the world.
Neal was confident that Voldemort would allow his requests if the person is really Voldemort. It's because a person like him would be too proud of his strength and wouldn't want his image tarnished in front of his followers. So, Neal decided to take advantage of Voldemort's ego and outsmarted him.
Unknown to him, his natural defenses against Voldemort's legilimency helped him out greatly.
Pointing the wand at Voldemort, he unleashed the spell, "Evictenim Nethus"
A bluish-white light burst out from the tip of his basilisk wand and ice began to conjure before Neal.
Lucius Malfoy recognized this spell but he didn't warn Voldemort about it and just continued to be a spectator while praying for Neal's escape.
"Oh…" Voldemort was unfamiliar with this magic. So, he appeared to be a little bit curious.
Soon, a giant ice knight is seen standing before Voldemort and the death eater. It was carrying a giant ice sword and an ice shield like a knight.
Nagini hissed at it angrily, feeling threatened by its existence. Harry just stared at the back of the ice giant in a daze.
During the first task in the tournament, he was just sitting inside the tent and waiting for his turn. So, he only heard about the ice giant from others. But, seeing it with his own eyes, for the first time, he felt that he can never hope to catch up with Neal.
Meanwhile, Voldemort started laughing once again, "You are indeed interesting, Neal Slytherin. Now I want to torture you even more than Harry Potter."
As Voldemort motioned his arm, Neal's voice was heard from behind the ice knight, "If I were you, I would try to escape with my life and won't pretend to be the Dark lord anymore."
Voldemort's laugh disappeared from Neal's comment. His face turned cold, "enough. You have irked me for far too long."
"Confringo" He unleashed a blasting curse, producing a fiery explosion towards the ice knight.
The Ice knight tried to block the explosion with the shield.
The power behind Voldemort's spell was found to be stronger. The shield was destroyed with ease but the ice knight is still standing. Grabbing the sword, it jumped high in the air to strike down the enemy of its master.
The death eaters saw Neal and Harry once again. The latter was still on the ground while the former was pointing the other wand at the dark lord who monetarily shifted his attention towards the ice knight.
"Experlliamus." A jet of scarlet light was shot out from the black walnut wand.
Without even looking at Neal, Voldemort sent a jet of green light towards the incoming attack.
