Bab 57: 57_Someone Important
When Zheng Ling Ling's silhouette was no longer seen, the atmosphere around the private hotel room darkened.
"I don't get why you're still okay with befriending that self-centered woman." Tang Biyu exclaimed. Her look was displeased. She was the woman who sat in center between the other two woman.
"Well, I'm just in because we get to use her for money. She's loaded." Chu Mina said with a shrug of her shoulder. She was the person on the left who had the poisonous mouth.
"I don't think we can continue hanging out with her anymore. She's too much." the woman on the right said. Her name was Qin Yun Li.
All three of them were women from normal families and they were always together wherever they went to. Since highschool, their life was fairly normal and uneventful until they met Zheng Ling Ling in university. Zheng Ling Ling wanted to join their group of three and they let her in. Who would have thought that she was just looking down on them?
"I really don't want to associate myself with her anymore. She has that bitchy attitude and I don't like it." Tang Biyu was exasperated. She really didn't like Zheng Ling Ling from day one but Chu Mina had told her to give the woman a chance so she did.
How she regretted listening to Chu Mina.
"Just relax. It's not like you don't get benefits from being her friend? Look here, we got to eat in this fancy hotel without paying a cent." Chu Mina asnwered in a calm voice which irked Tang Biyu even more.
"Is that all you think of, Mina? You're so cheap to be bought by just a set of fancy dinner." Tang Biyu retorted. Her face red with anger.
"You aren't cheap either, Biyu. You ate the most." Chu Mina told her.
"Stop it, guys. I don't like listening to your ramblings. If Yao Yao were here, she definitely would pinch your ears until they become pointed." Qin Yun Li's remark made both Tang Biyu and Chu Mina become silent.
The mention of their long-lost friend threw them into an awkward silence. Tang Biyu was the first to speak.
"Where could she be right now? She disappeared just like that." fiddling with the fork in her hand, Tang Biyu muttered.
"She cut off connection with us just like that! I don't get her at all." Chu Mina protested suddenly. If there was anyone who could make her crawl out from her 'calm' demeanor, it was this Yao Yao.
"Maybe she had her reasons.." Qin Yun Li was the one to speak this time.
"Do you think something happened to her? We went to her house but no one was there. Now one of her relatives lives there." Tang Biyu said.
"I honestly don't know and I don't want to know. She's the one who left so let her be." Chu Mina said and she soon got up from her seat. Her relationship with this Yao Yao person was delicate. The first thing she felt when she learnt of her disappearance was betrayal.
No text, no phone calls, no emails. Yao Yao cut off every way of contacts with the three of them and she never came to school again the later days. Chu Mina thought that the three of them were sufficient. She thought that she could help with anything as long as Yao Yao asked for it. But she didn't.
So Chu Mina felt betrayed. She felt useless. She wasn't needed. What use of a friend if they couldn't be the one to support their friends when in need? When Yao Yao didn't say anything, Chu Mina felt like she didn't matter.
"Let's go." Chu Mina told the two of them as she started to walk away. Her voice as soft as a delicate feather. But her calm appearance couldn't lie to her other two friends that she was also thinking about their Yao Yao.

With Li Yao's insistence, Meng Rou decided to stay at her place for a week to make sure she was healed of her injuries. Li Yao's only guests at this point were Meng Rou and Mu Lihai. No one ever visited her since the past six years. But she thought her luck might change starting with the new year. Because Mu Lihai was with her onwards.
After they finished their dinner, Li Yao was at the kitchen, washing the dishes. She told Meng Rou to get comfortable in another room where Meng Rou used to occupy whenever she came over to the house.
When Li Yao was humming a song, a call went through her phone. She immediately knew who was calling. No one from the firm would call her this late in the evening.
"Hello." she answered the call.
"Hey, dear." a sweet sounding voice was heard. Li Yao felt her heart skipping a few beats.
"Have you had dinner?" she asked him first.
"Not yet. I'm still in the office." he told her and she let out an 'Oh' before she furrowed her eyebrows. She remembered him telling her that he would be busy today.
"You can't skip your meals. You need food to maintain your health.." she started to give him life advise.
When Li Yao finished, she didn't hear a thing from Mu Lihai.
"Mu Lihai are you there? Are you listening?"
"Yes dear. I heard everything. Your sweet nagging is just as important as your kisses to me." he flirted with her and Li Yao was instantly on the red.
"Don't speak nonsense. Now listen to me and call for a delivery service. Send them to my house, I will pack you something to eat." Li Yao readily made a decision.
"Huh? Are you sure? It's late. You should be resting, not making dinner." Mu Lihai wanted to reject her offer but she cut him off.
"And so do you, President Mu Lihai of Mu Enterprise. You should be resting, not working." she used his position to state her point. He didn't know how important his existence to her was. She was concerned for him.
"Well.. there's just so much to do.. you don't need to do this.. I mean.." he said, trying to pick on some appropriate sentences. His effort made it seem like he was pacifying his angry wife upon coming home late because of overtime.
"Now just call the service. Text me when you receive the food. Okay?" she wanted to laugh at his failed attempt.
Then they talked over the phone for some more minutes before she resumed cleaning the kitchen. And Mu Lihai also continued with the stacking piles of paperwork on his desk.
He had a serene feeling in his heart. He didn't know that having Li Yao as a girlfriend would bring so much happiness. He was glad it was Li Yao. No one but her could make him feel like this. He felt like he was important to someone.
