Yu Chen, though refreshed, was exhausted after the walk. It seemed like she had still not replenished her strength fully. She collapsed onto the couch as soon as she walked inside, and Oreo was curled up next to her in an instant.
Si Xia chuckled as he walked into the kitchen. "You two are definitely related." he said, disappearing from the living room. Chen stuck out her tongue in response and snuggled closer to the ball of fur named Oreo.
After dinner . . . .
Yu Chen did the dishes while Si Xia did a little work. Once she was done, Chen walked over to where Si Xia sat on the couch. She went behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Hello, my workaholic boyfriend." Chen said, rubbing her nose in the crook of Xia's neck. Si Xia chuckled and closed his laptop before turning to place a quick kiss on her cheek. "What do you feel like doing?" he asked.
Chen's face brightened as she rushed to the front of the couch and sat down next to him. She said, bouncing like a five-year-old, "How about a movie? Do you want to watch a movie?" Xia nodded and switched on the TV to look for a good movie as Oreo, who had been beside him, jumped down from the couch and climbed up beside Chen.
"Traitor." Si Xia muttered, giving him a betrayed look.
A few minutes into the movie, Yu Chen turned her face to look at Si Xia. "Say Xia," she asked, "Didn't we have a party here last night?" "Don't tell me you've short term memory loss?" Xia replied, not even looking away from the TV.
Chen huffed and said, "I think I have long term memory loss. Who might you be mister?" She pouted and crossed her arms in front of her chest as she finished. Xia gave her one look and let out an echoing laugh. "Fine. Fine. I'm sorry." he said, pulling her into his lap. "Yes. We did have a party here last night. What about it?"
Yu Chen blinked innocently at him, "Who cleaned up all the mess?" Si Xia let out another laugh. 'His employees would have a heart-attack if they saw his grumpy boss laughing this much. I wonder what he finds so funny though?' Chen thought to herself as Xia stroked her head. "You don't need to worry about all that." he said.
Chen insisted, "But I want to know! I was the one who threw the party, I should be the one to clean up the mess too." He let out a long suffering sigh, but answered nonetheless. "I had Daoyin hire a cleaning crew when I woke up. They were done in under an hour."
"Rich people. They want to waste money on every single thing." Chen muttered and Xia let out another chuckle as he tucked her head under his chin. "Better get used to it." he whispered.
An hour later . . .
Si Xia had been completely engrossed in the movie. He shuddered when a particularly scary scene came and looked at Chen, wondering how she was doing. Yes, they had decided to watch a horror movie in the night. Cliche.
Xia's lips curved into a loving smile as he saw the sleeping figure in his arms.
