Bab 252: I'm gonna make him listen to me
As Chen was about to say something, Huo Zenghai's voice rung out from Hua's phone, "What the hell!?!? How did I come in?"
Yu Chen was surprised, "Zenghai?"
Huo Zenghai said again, "Who else? You know, your boyfriend had me ready to track your phone or hack into surveillance cameras to find you. But still Chen, it's unlike you to be so irresponsible."
Yu Chen's face fell at the mention of Si Xia. Hua immediately caught her reaction and scolded Zenghai, "Shut up and go to sleep now. Let us have some girls' time."
"Yeah yeah. How come me and Xia never have any boys' time? Anyway, I'll catch you later Chen. Bye girls." Zenghai's voice rung out before the call disconnected.
Yu Chen looked at Xi Hua and said, "I'm really sorry. I worried you all, didn't I?"
Xi Hua smiled, "That you did. But you know, the way I see it, even the mother hen sometimes needs to be a little reckless. Even the responsible one needs to slack off once in a while."
Yu Chen forced out a smile. No matter what Hua said, Xia's angry face still flashed before her eyes. She said, "Thanks Hua." She then headed towards her room.
Xi Hua called out, "Hey Chen? You want a midnight snack?"
Chen turned around, forced out another smile and shook her head before closing the door to her room.
Xi Hua pinched the bridge of her nose, "Damn these two. It's almost like they live for each other rather than themselves. Xia gets so angry just because Chen goes out without telling, and Chen looks like she is in depression just because he is angry."
Yu Chen went into her room and slumped onto her bed. She counted the seconds until she was sure Xia would have reached home and called him. He did not pick up. Chen waited for two minutes and called again. No answer, again. She continued to do so until Xia's phone switched off.
She kept her phone away and dropped facedown on her bed, hugging the pillow.
Yu Chen could not close her eyes, everytime she did, Xia's expressionless face flashed across her mind. She had no idea that he would be hurt like that, Yu Chen right now was even ready to give up dancing altogether if Xia asked her to.
Chen lay in the same pose the whole night until the sky began to get lighter outside her window. She got up and stared outside for some time, then tried Xia's phone, still switched off. Yu Chen stared at her phone angrily, she could not keep making these half assed attempts.
Yu Chen got up and changed her clothes. She wore her favourite hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. Chen also combed her hair and then looked at herself in the mirror. She looked like a zombie. She had dark circles beneath her eyes, her complexion was pale and lips were parched. Yu Chen shook her head and hunted around for a paper and pen. If Si Xia was not going to talk to her, she at least had to do all she could to make him listen.
Chen sat down and wrote a letter.
